How To Evolve Every Meta Unit Guide
Crafting is Essential
One of the most important things to focus on is crafting, especially when it comes to those green Essence Stones. These are essential for evolving your characters quickly. The fastest way to get them? Legend Stages. The maximum quantity you can hold is 100, though sometimes it glitches and allows you to go over. I don’t have info on this one yet, but I’ll make sure to update accordingly as soon as I can.

Best Stage for Farming
Legend stages are the best for farming these items. Specifically, the Hidden Sand or Hidden Mist Monster stages are where I like to grind. Let me show you exactly what I do. I usually equip an Epic character with good traits for this. For example, I frequently use Piccolo—people always ask, Why Piccolo? Well, he’s excellent for this type of farming.
When playing Hidden Sand Legend Stage 2, I start by placing Piccolo right at the beginning, and he can solo the entire wave, including the boss. You don’t need any Mythical units here; just place Piccolo, and he’ll handle it. He even solos the boss, making it quick and efficient.
You have two options after placing units:
- Add Speedcarts for faster rounds.
- Just upgrade your units and let them do the work.
In most cases, you won’t even need speed cards. Once you place a few Piccolo units, he clears everything on his own. You can even set up a macro to automate the process if you want to speed things up.
What About Other Units?
I get a lot of questions asking if this method works with other characters like Kizaru. Honestly, I haven’t tried it, but I assume it might. However, I tend to auto-sell all my legendaries and epics to keep things simple. Piccolo has great utility here, especially as a shield breaker. You’ll see him demolish shielded enemies with ease.
The reason why I choose Piccolo is because his passive ability makes him a beast in these stages. After every six hits, he deals 150% damage with only a 5-second cooldown. Plus, his rage mode boosts his base stats significantly. That’s why I use him all the time, especially when farming stages like this. If you combine him with characters like Obito or Sasuke, it becomes even easier to clear waves.
Evolve ‘Em All!
At the end of the day, the most efficient way to get these green Essence Stones is through Legend stages. You can’t get them from story mode, nightmare mode, infinite, or Paragon stages—only from Legend stages and double dungeons.
If you’re farming for Icarus in double dungeons, you’ll naturally collect these stones as a by-product. I personally evolved both Sasuke and Obito in just one day by grinding for Icarus. While I haven’t gotten him yet (over 440 clears!), I’ve managed to evolve a ton of characters just from grinding.
However, focus on Hidden Sand Legend Stage 1 if you want a fast, reliable method using Epic units. It’s efficient, and you don’t need anything fancy to make it work.
