Anime Vanguards: Best Trait Tier List

Are you not sure which trait to use on your unit? Here are the best Traits for every meta unit in the game!

It’s been a while since the release of Anime Vanguards. And that means meta is starting to stabalize. That’s why I’ve come up with this tier list, where I’ll be breaking down which traits work best with specific units, and explaining how you can optimize your team for maximum performance. Whether it’s extending range, boosting damage, or reducing attack speed, my list will help you understand the ideal traits to enhance your vanguards.

Best Trait Tier List

When it comes to optimizing your team in Anime Vanguards, it’s crucial to understand how certain traits synergize with specific units. Traits like Golden, Marksman, and Solar not only improve individual stats but can drastically change how a unit performs

The key is knowing which trait best complements your unit’s abilities and placement strategy. Whether you’re looking for range, damage output, or a combination of both, understanding trait synergy is essential to building a powerful team.

That’s why this Tier List is kinda different. Instead of ranking them from S to F tiers like usual, I‘ve grouped units in a tier depending on their BiS (Best-in-Slot) Trait.

All units in Anime Vanguards and their best traits.

Golden, Marksman & Solar

I’ve added two new entries: Golden and Marksman. First off, Golden on Speedwagon is an obvious win – it’s just a W. But Marksman? Well, it’s a game-changer for certain supports because of the extra range.

Let me explain: Solar gives 20% range, while Marksman boosts it by 30%. This makes a massive difference for characters like Alligator and Pain. Both benefit from that added range since Pain has full AoE on placement, and Croc (Alligator) has a wide cone attack. With Marksman, these units perform exceptionally well.

Now, you could use Solar, but range is key for these guys, not raw damage. That’s why Marksman takes the crown here. Another great fit? Heruka Rin, for the same reason. When range is your main focus, Marksman becomes essential.

Alright, for Naruto, he can go with either Solar or Marksman, and here’s why: Naruto’s placement range is really weak, even though he has good damage and AoE. Marksman helps fix that by giving him better range to make the most of his AoE cone. However, Solar adds a little more damage and slightly reduces his SPA, so I’d say Solar is the better pick to address his range issues.

Monarch

Alright, moving on – let’s talk about Monarch. This trait is best suited for three key units: Sunen Woo, Alak Card, and Obito (or Toby). Here’s why: Sunen and Alak Card both have powerful active abilities tied to their attack stat. Since these abilities only apply to one placement at a time, Monarch maximizes their attack potential. And for Toby, his DOT (damage over time) ability doesn’t stack, so cranking up his attack stat makes his DOT much more effective.

Ethereal & Deadeye

Next up is Igis. He works great with either Ethereal or Deadeye, depending on what you’re aiming for. With Deadeye, you get a solid damage boost, thanks to his multi-hit full AoE at the end. On the other hand, Ethereal reduces his SPA (seconds per attack), which already happens to be naturally high. So, if you want consistency, Ethereal is great, but honestly, both traits are solid picks.

Now, let’s talk about Cha-In – no questions here, Deadeye is by far the best trait for her. She’s a five-placement unit and already has a crazy crit rate (around 55-65%), which skyrockets with Deadeye. The crit consistency and damage she can output with this trait is just insane.

For Sasuke, you have some options: Marksman, Solar, or Ethereal. Ethereal lowers his SPA, giving you more stuns, but there’s a lockout on stuns anyway, so it’s not that impactful. He’s already got decent range, so in the end, it really doesn’t matter much which trait you choose – I’ll stick him with Solar to keep it simple.

Lastly, we’ve got Vegeta. Ethereal is your go-to here because it stacks with his natural SPA reduction, which can get his SPA down by 40%. That means he’s dishing out fast and heavy damage, making him a fantastic unit for early-game defense while you build up your farms. He’s cheap to place and upgrade, making him a great option for holding the line.

Do-Not-Roll

Now, let’s cover the Do-Not-Roll category. I know some of these are decent units, but realistically, you won’t use them much compared to the top performers. Pain and Croc are your go-tos, and while some legendaries and epics are good, I’d save your rerolls for the higher-tier units on this list.

Remember: Use The Best-In-Slot Trait!

And that’s a wrap on my Anime Vanguards Trait Tier List! I hope this breakdown helps you make better decisions on which traits to roll for and how to maximize your units’ potential. Do you agree with the picks, or would you rank things differently? In case you have questions or concerns, also feel free to leave them in the comments section below. I’ll try to get back to you as soon as I get the time (I get busy too sometimes, you know?).
