In Farming Simulator 25, there are a variety of ways in which farmers can sell off their products to make money. One such way is by using trains that you can use to ship your products and sell them elsewhere. They can be a really handy asset if you know how to use them right.
But they can be quite confusing to use if you are not familiar with them. If you’re struggling to utilize trains, we’ve got you covered! In this guide, we’ll show you exactly how you can use trains. Without further delay, let’s get into it!
How to Use Trains
There are a variety of ways in which you can use trains in Farming Simulator 25. First, we’ll go over everything you need to know to understand the mechanics. After that, we’ll see the ways in which you can use trains to turn a profit.
After all, trains can be used to turn a higher profit because they offer better prices generally.

Understanding Train Hotspots
Before we get into using trains, it first serves to understand all the hotspots related to trains on the map. This is because we’ll be going to these locations when using trains in Farming Simulator 25.
When you open the map, follow the black railway track on the map. You’ll be able to see a variety of icons on or around the black track.
The first of these are the sell points located on the furthest ends of the train tracks. These sell points are where your train goes to and sells the goods that are on it. You can identify them by their purple color.
Keep in mind that not all products can be sold through train sell points. To see exactly which products can be sold, we recommend opening the Prices menu. After that, select different products and see what stations you can sell them at.
If you see a station with a train icon on it, it means this product can be sold using trains.
However, to actually be able to use the train, you will need to first rent the train. This can be done through Rent Train points that can be found on the train track.
Finally, to be able to load your goods on trains, you will need to use a Grain Silo which is next to the train track. There are various types of silos in the game, but you shouldn’t confuse them with the silos next to trains.
We’ve shown one such silo known as the Grain West Silo that you can use to load goods onto the train.
Renting Train
After you’ve gotten a hang of the train icons in Farming Simulator 25, it’s time to actually rent a train. To do this, head to the Rent Train icon on the map.
Over here, you should be able to see a train icon that you can interact with. When you walk onto it, you should be able to see the option to rent it in the top left corner. Hit the R key and you will be able to rent it.
At the bottom, it’ll say how far away the rented train is. If the distance is increasing, that means the train will do one more loop before coming to you. When it does reach you, the train will stop and you will be able to use it.
Keep in mind that renting a train costs $1000 per hour. This may seem like a lot, but the hour is actually one hour in real life. So, it is well worth the investment.
Once the train arrives, you can interact with it and control it. We also recommend that you turn on the Switch Trains option in your Game Settings. This will allow you to tab to your rented train and control it instantly.
Loading Trains
After you’ve rented the train, it’s time to start loading it. However, before you can do that, you’ll need to actually load the nearby grain silo. This is because you’ll be using this silo to load the trains.
When you find the silo, you should be able to see two icons on it. One of these icons allows you to unload goods into the silo where it can store up to 500,000L of goods.
With the other icon, you can unload stuff in the silo onto your vehicle in case you want to remove it from there.
After you’ve filled the grain silo with the product you want to move using the trains, it’s time to get on the train. After you do that, you will be able to move the train.
The first thing you want to do is select the container on the train that you want loaded. You can toggle through all the containers using G.
Once you have the right container, open the cover using the N key. After that, drive the train so that the silo’s pipe is right above the container. With the cover open, press the R key to start filling it with your goods.
After it fills up, you can open the other containers and fill them up too.
Keep in mind that there is a log tanker at the back too that you can use to hold logs if you want to sell them. Once you have everything on the train, it’s time to start driving the train towards your desired sell point.
Loading Pallets
Before you go selling your goods, there is an additional thing that you can do with trains. Near the train stations, you can find logistics centers. These aren’t marked with icons but can be identified as warehouses.
You can move certain pallets with goods here by driving to them. After that, you can actually load these pallets onto the train by driving the train near them.
After you place the pallets on the train, you can then strap them down to prevent them from falling. In this way, you also have the option of selling additional goods.
Selling Goods With Train
Once you have everything loaded, all you need to do is simply drive to the sell point. You may be wondering, what’s the point of all this hassle. The reason is that train sell points usually tend to give better prices than with other stations.
So, you can turn more of a profit in this way.
Once you reach the sell point at the end, you’ll get a prompt asking if you want to sell the goods on the train. Select yes and you will be able to make the profit, with some money being cut as a leasing price.
That’s everything you need to know about using trains in Farming Simulator 25. We strongly suggest you do this with the goods that can be sold off to train sell points. Just be sure to compare the prices with other stations before you do this.
