The latest season of Torchlight: Infinite, Arcana, has now been released, which means a whole lot of balance changes and a ton of grinding to be done. If you have decision paralysis and can’t seem to decide on how you want to start the season, here are a few suggestions for characters and builds to try to help get you started on the long grind ahead!

Top 5 League Starters for Season 7: Arcana

Before we get started, it is important to note that this is purely subjective. This list is mainly based on some of the strongest builds showcased by various members of the community. You are always free to use whatever character you feel more comfortable with, which will bring more enjoyment for some players.

Character #1. Berserker Rehan With Savage Charge Build

Once you have Savage Charge, the build basically turns you into a steamrolling machine who can literally run over everything on the screen. Early on, your build for this setup should look like this:

  • Savage Charge – Add in Precision Strike, Hardened, and Added Fire Damage. These choices will ensure that your charge is not just impactful, but also provide a bit more survivability as you rush through mobs.
  • Bull’s Rage
  • Burst of Anger
  • Vulnerability

Everything but Savage Charge is going to have Preparation just so they are cast automatically. It is a very “braindead” setup as you literally just go around charging to clear stuff. Perfect for free to play people or those who just want to level up fast and with little effort.

Character #2. The Forsaken Iris Vigilant Breeze

The new character is the Vigilant Breeze version of The Forsaken Iris, and as the shiny new addition to the game, it is just incredibly powerful in general. If you are willing to get her from the season pass, then you should definitely go for it as she is very much worth it right now.

You can make some really strong and fast clearing minion builds that makes use of stuff like Erosion Magus and her various other elemental spirits. Every other ability, such as Machine Army, Blurry Steps, and Nourishment of Life are on Preparation to automate them.

Character #3. The Forsaken Iris Growing Breeze

Both versions of The Forsaken Irisare pretty good right now, so Growing Breeze is also a nice starter for this league. Unlike the previous entry, this one can be played for free as it is not a part of the season pass. It uses the following skills:

  • Summon Thunder Spirit
  • Electrocute – Take preparation and extended duration for it.
  • Blink – For the movement, preferably with cooldown reduction.
  • Nourishment of Life – Take preparation and some cooldown reduction for it. Add in Mass Effect and Well Fought Battle as well.
  • Dazzling Bloom – Same skills as above.

Character #4. Spacetime Witness Youga Elapse With Mind Control

Youga, just like the Rehan setup from earlier, can be built to be a very straightforward and simple one button screen clearing machine with his Mind Control ability. Just take the following skills once you can:

  • Mind Control – Take the Control Spell, Passivation, Grudge, Shortened Duration, and Guard skillnodes.
  • Mana Boil
  • Blurry Steps
  • Star Stalker
  • Corruption

Everything will have preparation when applicable. In this case, everything will have Activation Medium: Preparation, which essentially automates everything outside of your bread and butter Mind Control. Very easy to use and deals great damage overall.

Character #5. Frost Fire Gemma Frostbitten Heart

Frost Fire Gemma is particularly strong right now, and funnily enough she always has been. Basically, this setup will be running Frost Terra, and here is an overview of what it will look like:

  • Frost Terra – Take Spell Concentration, Ground Divide, Control Spell, and Cataclysm when you can.
  • Star Stalker – Add a Well-Fought Battle, Cooldown Reduction, and Greater Multiple Projectiles. Either Preparation or Elite activation medium work depending on your needs.
  • Frigid Transmission – Take Cooldown Reduction. Quick Mobility and Magic Dash can help too.
  • Biting Cold – Add in Extended Duration and throw in a preparation to automate it.
  • Ice Bond – Take Well Fought Battle with it. Either Preparation or Elite activation medium work depending on your needs.

And those are just some recommendations that you can try out at the start of the new season! Again, you are always free to pick your favorite characters if you already prefer playing as those instead, but these will help you speed through it in the first few days.
