Back in the olden days, fertilizer was a mixture of pretty much everyone’s poop. Yes, including humans. Back then, they didn’t have big brands like today where they can just use those to fertilize their farm. In Farthest Frontier, they show us that the fertilizer used for the farm actually comes from a mixture of materials, as well as the villagers’ feces. But how do they use it? Where do they put it? How long does it take to work? Well, we can answer those questions in this handy dandy guide on how the compost building works in Farthest Frontier.
How The Compost Building Works – Farthest Frontier
The way the Compost Yard works is that a villager will go around the whole village collecting the villagers’ feces. Once the villager is done, they take it back to the Compost Yard and put it on the Compost Pile. Clicking on the Compost Yard will open up the menu and you should see three Compost Piles.
The Compost Pile will have three statuses: ready, collecting, and empty. You can only use the Compost Pile that says ready. You cannot use the empty pile for obvious reasons, and the collecting pile is not enough to compost the soil.
Once you select the ready pile, you will have to choose which field will get the compost. It is recommended to give it to the field with the least fertility. Select the field and the villager in charge of the Compost Yard will bring the compost to the field to fertilize it.
The compost is used to improve a fields fertility, which in turn gets you higher quality produces. The fertility of a field will increase over the year in in-game time, so you don’t have to watch over it. Just do your normal duties and let the compost do its thing.
