City builder and colony builder games have had a steady growth as a genre these past few years. Games like Banished and Rimworld have had a big following and soon more and more games like them started popping out. Of course, we can’t forget the classics like Sim City and Dwarf Fortress that help increase the popularity of the genre. Now there’s a new city builder in the block and it’s called the Farthest Frontier. In this guide we’ll show you where the best starting locations are for your city.
Best Starting Locations In Farthest Frontier
Farthest Frontier is a city builder game set in the medieval times where you try to make a thriving city in uncharted lands. That means you start the game placing your town center, and the whole map without fog of war. This is so you can plan out the city and choose where the best start is for that city. Here are some tips in looking for a good starting position.
The first tip is to find where the deer are. Deer hunting is a great early game food source so it’s great to build near it. Don’t build just next to it though since you’ll want space for other buildings. Remember that once you’ve placed your first building the fog of war will appear and you’ll have to explore the map afterwards.
Next is to build your town next to a forest and some stone. These are the building blocks of your buildings so it’s nice to have some of them close by. Again, don’t be too close because you’ll need to make other buildings as well, and they’ll need space.
Another final reminder is to build your city somewhere relatively flat. You can start on a hill, but buildings can only be built on flat terrain with some limited flattening of the terrain when you place them. So, pick a nice open and flat area to start your city.
Congratulations you now know the basics of what you need for a great starting location for the game. Now go out there and build your sprawling city.
