The ability to upgrade guns is incredibly useful in Atomfall as it’ll help you deal with enemies much easier. As you stockpile weapons, you’ll want to use these extra copies for upgrades. However, this is not possible until you are able to get the Gunsmith skill from the Crafting Manual. So, if you’re starting a new save, you might want to get this skill as fast as possible. In this guide, we’ll show you the fastest possible way to do this so you won’t have to wait around until you can get it. Without further delay, let’s get into it!
How to Unlock Gunsmith Fast
To get the Gunsmith skill, you will need to get the Crafting Manual. You won’t be able to get it through trading yet because you’ll need to confront Morris Wick later on about a letter. So, instead, we will rely on picking the Crafting Manual up as soon as possible.

Obtain Atomic Battery
Starting off, we will need to get an Atomic Battery. Luckily, you can get an early one by visiting Molly Jowett in Slatten Dale. The coordinates of her location are: 26.3 E, 79.0 N.
After interacting with her, select the Barter option. Here, we will select the Atomic Battery and attempt to give her something in return. You can get the Barter meter to fill up by giving her melee weapons, Molotovs and guns.
Guns are by far the biggest value here, as they will allow you to complete the trade easily. If you are not willing to part with them, you might need to give her a lot of melee weapons and Molotovs.
Either way, once the trade is in the center, complete the barter so you can get the Atomic Battery.
Enter The Interchange
Once you have the Atomic Battery, your goal is to immediately head to The Interchange. You can do this quickly by heading to the entrance located in the top right of Slatten Dale. The exact coordinates are: 31.0 E, 77.8 N.
Be careful here though, as the entrance is guarded by Outlaws. You can choose to fight them or sneak past them, whichever one suits you best.
Once you enter The Interchange, use the Modified Keycard to open the Interchange Quarantine Door. From there, make your way ahead to the Central Processor. You might come across some enemies like bats, so be careful.
Power Up Central Processor
When you reach the Central Processor, pick up the Atomic Battery from the body on the Central Processor Control. After that, place it inside the terminal and power up the Central Processor.
Insert Atomic Battery
Once that’s taken care of, head back and go to the Delta Data Store D room. Here is its position on The Interchange map.
When you enter inside, interact with the Delta Battery Terminal. Place the Atomic Battery you got at the start inside this terminal. Doing so will power the Data Store D room.
Open Data Store D Store Room
Next, you’ll need to get the Data Store D Store Room Key. This can be found on a body in the upper walkway of the room.
You can get to the body by jumping on the nearby servers.
Once you have the key, go to the store room which can be found by going down the stairs. Open the locked door and enter inside.
The Crafting Manual will be on one of the tables with Vinyls on it. Pick it up alongside any nearby loot. From here, Learn the manual in your inventory and you’ll be able to unlock the Gunsmith skill.
Now you’ll be able to upgrade guns quite quickly in the game!
