Alright, so I logged into Verse Piece expecting to do my usual dailies… and boom, entire update dropped on my face. New race, new system, new way to summon anime shadows and flex on dungeon bosses? Yeah, you already know I had to check it out. If you’ve ever dreamed of yelling “Arise!” while a bunch of overpowered shadows do all the dirty work for you, welcome to your moment. The catch? You’ve got to grind a bit to get it. But I went through the pain (and a little data loss), so now you don’t have to. Here’s everything you need to know to unlock the Necromancer race, master the Arise system, and unleash your inner shadow monarch.
Arise System Guide & Showcase
If you’ve ever wanted to cosplay as Sung Jin-Woo from Solo Leveling, this is your chance. The Arise System (race) lets you summon and control the shadows of defeated enemies, basically turning PvE into your own personal power fantasy.
You can’t get it by rerolling though. You’ll unlock it by clearing a specific questline tied to the Player Race: Necromancer, and once you’re in, the real fun begins: custom shadows, recall options, busted DPS, and Vasto Ichigo carrying you through bosses like it’s nothing.

Step 1: Start the Player Race Quest
First things first, head to Verse Town and grab the Player Race Quest.
Old players might remember that you had to die 25 times to the Statue God Boss just to unlock the race. Thankfully, that cursed method is no longer required. (Thank you, devs.)

New Quest Requirement (Updated)
To unlock the Necromancer race now, you’ll need to clear the Double Dungeon 10 times. Don’t mistake it for the Monarch Dungeon, btw.
Yep, not just die, you actually have to win. But don’t worry, I’ve got you.
Step 2: Access the Double Dungeon
You’ll find the dungeon entrance over on Runes Island. It has five waves, and the Statue God Boss spawns in the final one.
Important: You’ll need a Blessing Stone to even start a run.
To get one, just take down Sukuna in Verse Town. He drops them reliably.

Step 3: After 10 Clears – Unlock the Necromancer Race
Once you clear the Double Dungeon ten times, a system message will pop up offering you the Player Race: Necromancer. Hit accept. Congrats, you’re now the proud owner of a shadow army starter kit.
Step 4: Unlock the Job Change + Arise System
But wait, there’s more. After unlocking Necromancer, you’ll also unlock a Job Change Quest.
This sends you back into the dungeon (Crimson Commander) for a boss fight with Igris. Once you beat him, you finally get access to the Arise System.

Heads-Up: Data Loss Bug
Before you dive into endless dungeons, there’s a serious bug right now causing progress/data loss after running the Double Dungeon.
Devs are aware and are doing account rollbacks to restore progress, so don’t panic if your stuff disappears. But maybe hold off grinding too hard until the hotfix is out. Check the Verse Piece Official Discord for information on this.
Quick Tip: Access the System UI Fast
Smash the G key on your keyboard to open the System UI. Super helpful for managing Arise progress and other system features on the fly.
Step 5: Arise Like a Shadow Monarch
Once you’ve unlocked it, the Arise skill starts slow but gets ridiculous fast. You’ll begin by summoning defeated enemies as shadows (even bosses!). But you get only 3 chances to arise them, and I have no idea if there’s a way to increase the Arise rate at the moment. Later, you unlock Recall options, lineup control, and more.
Yes, you’ll be yelling “Arise!” every five seconds. Yes, it’s extremely satisfying.

Arise System Shadow Army Showcase
Let me put it like this:
- I’ve got Vasto Ichigo in my shadow squad.
- He’s currently melting everything, from mobs to major bosses.
- My friend even solo’d the Biru boss using just three Ichigo shadows.
It’s busted. Enjoy it while it lasts, because a nerf is definitely coming. Just note: shadows despawn over time, so you’ll need to keep refreshing them between fights. But while they’re active? You are basically unstoppable.
Wrap-Up: Is It Worth It?
So yeah, this update might’ve wiped my progress, made me clear a dungeon ten times, and cost me a couple hours, but… was it worth it? Absolutely. Once you get your shadows rolling, Verse Piece starts feeling like a completely different game, in the best way. It’s chaotic, stylish, and lowkey broken (for now). Just keep an eye on the bugs and don’t go too hard until the rollback situation is totally sorted.
Also worth noting:
- Max Prestige Cap has been increased to 10
- If your data got wiped, don’t panic. Devs confirmed rollbacks are happening and check Discord for rollback info.
That’s pretty much it. I’ll be over here yelling “Arise!” at every mob I see.
