Bosses in souls-like games can be the main draw for most players of the genre. Aside from the overall difficulty of the game, the bosses of these games can easily be the highlight of the game. People can’t forget the Asylum Demon from the first Dark Souls and people still fight over who is the best boss fight in Elden Ring. Bosses need to be memorable, not only through gameplay but also by design. This is so that players can easily distinguish them from the many unique monsters a game brings. Thymesia doesn’t have a shortage of good-looking bosses and Odur is no exception. In this guide, we’ll show you how to deal with Odur, one of the bosses in Thymesia.

Odur Boss Fight Guide For Thymesia

These days players aren’t even surprised when a boss in a game defeat them in one or two hits. It’s an expectation many players from the Souls-like genre of games understand. Not only that but these bosses can even have multiple phases and it can surprise some new players but for veterans they half-expect all bosses to have multiple phases as a sick joke. Odur is one of the bosses with two phases.

Phase one is quite simple, opening with a claw strike and following with quick saber strikes is a great way to whittle down his health. At one point in your combo, he’ll block you attack and do a counter-attack, this one is easy to move out of and once he does you can open with a claw strike and a saber combo again. Once you put his health to zero, he’ll start the second phase.

At this point he can teleport a short distance when you attack him. After his teleport he’ll do a windup to an attack, you can’t interrupt this one with your own attacks as he’ll shrug it off, you can still damage them though.

You can do the same combo at the start. But when he blocks your attack, he jumps back and does a dash attack towards you. So, remember to dodge that. The dash attack has two quick attacks followed by a delayed third attack.

He will also do dash attacks followed by combos with his teleporting move so keep that in mind. It’s best to keep distance when he’s doing this.

He also has a charge up attack that opens with a lunge attack. And then, a shockwave that can damage or knock you back. It’s well telegraphed so once he does this, start putting some distance between you and him.

Congratulations, you now know how to fight this boss. It might take some getting used to with his attacks but with practice comes skill so fight on!
