Managing your resources in-game can be quite a challenge since the more complex your game is the more difficult it is to get a sense of what’s happening. Colony builder games often start off simple with simple resources like wood, stone for building, and simple berries for eating. Then it progressively gets more complex with manufactured wood, masoned stone, and planting crops to be turned into better food. Games like RUST have this kind of progression as well starting off with simple tools, bows, and crossbows to having electricity and turrets, in this guide, we’ll show you how to do power management in RUST.
A Beginner’s Guide to Power Management In RUST | Electricity Tutorial
Why do you need to learn power management in Rust? Can’t you just connect your Solar Panel to the gun turret to power it? Well simply put yes you can, but then you’ll learn that a Solar Panel makes 20 units of power while the gun turret only uses 10, which means you’re wasting half the energy you’re making. In this guide, we’ll show you how to manage your energy and not waste resources.
Managing electricity in rust is pretty simple, and one key item you’ll need to get stuff working is an Electrical Branch.
The Electrical branch has 1 input port at the bottom and 2 output ports at the top. The image above has colored boxes to help guide you through this article. All you need to do is connect your energy source to the bottom to feed it power.
The green box on the image represents the configurable output of the Branch. You can configure it to output a specific amount of power. For example, if you want to output a Turret you can set the output of the Branch to 10. Then, connect the turret with the upper left port.
The red box on the top next to the green one represents the extra output going out of the Branch. For example, you’re generating 50 units of power, you’ve set the branch to power a turret for 10 units of power. The extra units of power can then be routed from the upper right port to somewhere else, potentially not wasting any power.
Basically, electrical branches are the key to managing your power in RUST. It can be a great way to put your generated power where it needs to be.
Congratulations you now know how to manage your energy effectively in RUST. Now go out there and generate as much power as you want!
