CoD Modern Warfare 2 the remake has been out for some while now. It offers much better visuals and new and improved gameplay mechanics that make every CoD lover very happy. But controller users are experiencing issues from time to time. That is why in this guide we will be giving you a guide that will fix your controller problem. Let’s get started.
Fix Controller Not Working/Not Detected – CoD Modern Warfare 2
This guide can help you out with every type of controller that you might be using. No matter if it is Xbox or Playstation, this guide works.
All you will have to do is head over to your Steam Library. Then once here you will want to search for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 – Open Beta. Or you can open the full released game if you already have it.
Now once you find the game on the Steam Library you will want to right-click it. A window will open with a couple of options. You will want to choose the lowest option possible which says – Properties.
Now a window will open. In this window, you will see a couple of tabs on your left side. You will want to choose and click on the lowest one again – The Controller Tab.
Now once inside here you will simply want to click on the Use default Settings line. An option of 3 choices will appear. You will want to select to Disable Steam Input. By doing so, it will skip through the remapping that Steam does to make it compatible with certain games.
When clicking this the Steam will connect directly with your game CoD MW2. This way you should be having any issues that you might have had to be fixed. Now simply restart your game, or maybe even restart your device, and come back to the game.
Once you re-open CoD MW2 you should be able to play the game as a Console Edition on your PC and your controller will work without an issue.
