When playing survival games, your other goal besides beating the game and, well, surviving is to have better equipment that will help with the surviving goal. To do that, you need to do all sorts of things. Collecting resources, learn new blueprints or recipes, upgrade equipment and more. In Grounded, the goals are the same. You obviously need to have the best of the best in order to increase your chances for survival. In this guide, we will show you how to get a Tier 3 Axe, the best axe you can get in-game.
How To Get Tier 3 Axe – Grounded
The Tier 3 Axe in the game is called the Termite Axe. Judging from the name alone, it has something to do with termites. So you need to get Termite Chompers from Termite Soldiers. The item is needed in order to get the Termite Axe. Go to the location in the image above to find the best place to find Termite Soldiers.
The entrance to the Termite’s den should be here. Inside, you will find some baby termites. These aren’t your main goal. Go through the hallway until you emerge to the other side.
Once out, you will have to climb up to reach a specific cave entrance where you can find an abundance of Termite Soldiers.
The cave entrance you’re looking for is this one right here (the open hole in the log to the left). You will have to jump up to the top of the log and maneuver yourself down to the entrance without falling back down to the ground.
Once inside, look for the Termite Soldiers. Bear in mind that there are a lot of Termite Soldiers here, so don’t aggro too many at once or you will be overwhelmed. It’s advised to stand near them, but not too close, and wait until one or two of them notice you. Once they start chasing you, that’s when you back away from a safe distance so that the other Termite Soldiers don’t join in. Defeat them, and you should get a Termite Chomper.
After getting the Termite Chomper, go to where you placed your Resource Analyzer and analyze the Termite Chomper. Doing so will allow you to learn how to craft the Termite Axe.
Go to your Craft menu and look for the Termite Axe. There, you should see that you will need 2x Termite Chompers, 3x Termite Part, and 4x Tough Gunk. Farm these resources and you should be able to craft the Termite Axe, the Tier 3 Axe of Grounded.
