To get the Mimic Tear you’ll first need to progress through Ranni’s quest line. For those who forgot, Ranni is the 4-armed blue-skinned witch lady that gives you a summoning bell. At one point in the quest line, you’ll need to finish the Radahn Festival, that means defeating him. After that, a new area will appear on the map shown below.

Continue through the Eternal City until you see a fog wall to a boss. This boss is quite unique since it’ll be you! Yes, the boss in that area is a mimic of you with all of your gear and spells.

A nice trick here to defeat the mimic easily is to remove all of your gear before entering and the mimic will spawn in without any gear. Then you can just calmly equip back your gear and defeat them easily!
