From Freakinware Games we get a sequel to the exciting Turn-Based Card Game Runeverse called Runeverse: Sea Brawls, a pirate-themed tactical game where you get to recruit a whole new cast of characters and get to see your strategies in action. Now, of course, since the game just came out, there might be some problems here and there with the game, so we are here to help you fix these problems and get you back into the game!
Fix Crash On Launch, Black Screen & Infinite Loading – Runeverse: Sea Brawls
Card Games usually don’t require extreme PC parts, but this game is pretty beautiful and you might have a computer from 2004.
You need to meet these minimum requirements in order to play the game::
- CPU: Intel Pentium D / AMD Athlon 64 X2
- RAM: 2 GB
- OS: Windows 7
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 (256 MB) / ATI Radeon X1600 Pro (256 MB)
As you can see, it’s not that hard to meet these. Now, let’s see what you could do to fix this:
Verify Integrity Of Game Files
Sometimes files can get corrupted during installation or during gameplay. I know a game where I had to verify the files every 4 hours…
Here is what you should do to check your files:
- Launch your Steam client
- Go to your “Library” (Make sure you’ve logged into your account)
- Right-click “Runeverse: Sea Brawls”
- Afterward, click on “Properties”
- Click the “Local Files” tab and then select “Verify Integrity of Game Files…”
6. Wait for Steam to verify the files
This might take a while, so strap in. After it’s done, launch your game and all should be well. If not, do not fret, there are many other things you could try!
Allow Controlled Folder Access To The Game
The OS can sometimes try to stop us from playing because developers choose to place weird files in weird places.
Here is how you fix this little problem:
- Push the Windows key
- Go into “Settings”, then “Update & Security”, “Windows Security” and then “Virus & threat protection”
- In here, click the “Manage settings” option
- Right below “Controlled folder access”, click “Manage Controlled folder access”
- Switch the “Controlled folder access” -> “Off”
Otherwise, try this:
Out-of-date GPU Drivers and Operating System
Updates are the bread and butter of the computer. If you’re lacking some of them, some games might not work.
To see if you really are up to date, go to your “Windows Update” settings and see if your Operating System needs to update.
As for the GPU, search for Device Manager in your Start menu. Click on it, move over to display adapters, right-click your GPU, and select “update driver”.
Once that is done, restart your computer and see if the problem is still there.
Update Visual C++ Redistributables and DirectX
As said before, updates are important. And these ones are still big on the list of updates to check..
Here’s how you update them:
- Push the Windows + I keys to show the settings menu. In here, select “Update & Security”
- Click the “Check for updates” in the “Windows Updates” tab
This should solve the updating part of the process if Windows doesn’t decide to not help you for some reason.

After you restart, the problem should stop existing. If not, here is something else you might try.
Administrator & Fullscreen Optimizations
Administrator rights are very important and you see them popping off all the time. Fullscreen optimization is another thing that can cause you problems.
This is a way you can solve the administrator / full-screen problem:
- Right-click the Encased shortcut or file in its folder
- Go to “Properties” and then move over to the “Compatibility” tab
- Select “Run this program as an administrator” & “Disable Fullscreen Optimizations”
- Select “Apply” and afterward “OK”
Wait for an Update
If all this did not work, all you can do is wait for the developers to fix it after filing a complaint.
This should be fixed in the near future since the developers are really dedicated and helpful to the community, as seen from their last game.
