Everything You Need To Know About Warhammer Darktide

The new Warhammer Darktide is coming close to its release and a few people have already been lucky enough to play the closed beta of the game. It’s a horde FPS game with 4 different classes and different objectives. Go through the dark underside of a Hive City with a bunch of rejects sent there to die as they try to find out what heresy is happening there. The game features brutal combat, a myriad of weapons to choose from, and dark humor and banter from the characters. In this article we’ll show you what to expect in Warhammer Darktide.

Warhammer Darktide | Everything You Need To Know About The Game

Warhammer Darktide is the newest game coming out from Fatshark, the developers of the amazing Warhammer Vermintide games. The game features hordes of enemies you go through mixed with special enemies you have to deal with. You go through these missions with 3 other people and all of you can pick a class to play.

There are 4 different classes in the game, and knowing Fatshark, more will be added in the future. For now, these are the classes:

  • Veteran – A guardsman veteran, has the most choices in terms of ranged weaponry. Great for mid and long-range combat and dealing with the normal horde enemies.
  • Ogryn – A big tanky brute that can use a shotgun and a knife for close range. Further down the line they can even get a shield.
  • Zealot – A melee oriented character that can deal with special enemies and bosses easily in melee fighting.
  • Psyker – A near-crazy individual that uses the powers of the warp to blow enemies’ heads off, great for dealing damage to special armored enemies or bosses.

In the game you can even customize your character, change their looks, their backstories and their reason on why they’re being sent to their certain doom.

Each class has a Toughness bar that acts like a shield. It goes down every time the player gets hit with either a ranged or melee attack. This toughness in lore is different to each class, the Zealot’s Toughness shield comes from their faith in the Emperor, The Psyker their powers of the warp, The Veteran’s Armor and the Ogryn’s big muscular body.

After picking a class you go and dive down to a mission with 3 other players. There you’ll receive objectives, and a horde of enemies to deal with. You have to do the objectives and survive. These missions aren’t all the same though. Each one of them can have different modifiers, from double spawn rates, increased damage, and more armored mobs to keep players on their toes.

The developers have also promised a large central hub where you can meet other players, party up with them and check out their gear. That hub is also where the vendors are, where you can buy new weapons and so on.

The developers have said that they’re working on a system to make weapon and loadout customization a main point of the game. So, we’ll have to see what they add on the final release.

Congratulations you now know what to expect for Warhammer Darktide. Now all we need to do is wait for the game to release! Many thanks to Vulkan for showing everyone what to expect.
