God of War Ragnarok: All Relics Effects and Abilities Overview

Throughout the whole game progress, Kratos, the playable character, will be given three weapons that he can use in every battle. However, there are plenty of enemies that will be encountered. Even the enemies that are much stronger than Kratos are here.

That being said, weapons and physical attributes alone are not enough to defeat enemies in an efficient manner.

In God of War Ragnarok, there are 14 different relics that you have to find. Relics are used to increase the damage, armor, hp, and other stats of Kratos. Each relic has different abilities and effects on enemies when used.

All Relics Effects and Abilities Overview in God of War Ragnarok

In this game, there are 14 relics that you can find in different locations. These are categorized into three: Hilts, Talismans, and Glaives.

That being said, we are going to tell you about the abilities and effects caused by each relic.

Mystical Heirloom

This relic, Mystical Heirloom, is defined as something that awakens something dormant, deep down inside of the bearer.

In layman’s terms, this relic is used in order to trigger four mini-boss fights. After you have finished the battle, you will be able to earn the Steinbjorn Armor.

Hilt of Hofud

When the Hilt of Hofud is used, the space and time will get distorted causing a Realm Shift. This happens for a short amount of time. The duration can be increased upon upgrade.

Motsognir’s Call

The next one is called Motsognir’s Call. Using Sindri’s fork, Kratos creates a shockwave that can heavily stun enemies in the surrounding area.

Huldra Project #9

A bit cruel, but as Kratos uses Huldra Project #9, he uses Mimir’s discomfort to release a Bifrost blast to the enemies.

Hilt of Tyrfing

The next relic is the Hilt of Tyrfing.

Through this relic, Kratos greatly increases his damage according to the amount of health lost to him.

Hilt of Ridill

The Hilt of Ridill uses the sword to slam the ground and electrify the surrounding enemies. The area of effect is increased upon upgrading it.

Hilt of Angrvadall

The Hilt of Angrvadall can be used through the sword, The Stream of Anguish. This releases three slashes of lightwaves that increase in damage according to the respective arrangement of casting.

Hilt of Dainsleif

Using this relic, Kratos will use the sword of King Hogni to slam the ground. Doing this will create an explosion of Seior Poison. This will leave a hazard.

Hilt of Skofnung

By using this relic, Kratos will slam the ground using the sharpest sword in the realm.

Using this Hilt of Skofnung will release swords that are embedded in the ground around the area, and will cause Kratos to increase their strength.

Hilt of Forsbrandr

When Hilt of Forsbrandr is used, Kratos will hit the ground with a sword that can push the enemies back and can create an aura of protection for him.

Hilt of Hrotti

The Hilt of Hrotti marks the enemies. Once Kratos attacks a marked enemy, it reduces the Runic Cooldowns. While killing marked enemies gives Kratos a Blessing of Runic.

Hilt of Gram

The Hilt of Gram causes Kratos to rage. Using this will also stun nearby enemies.

Glaive of Dodher

This relic, Glaive of Dodher, causes Kratos to throw a Bifrost chakram that swerves towards the near enemy. Once this is upgraded, the number of chakrams is also increased.

Talisman of Meign

Using the Talisman of Meign greatly increases the melee attack damage. This lasts for 10 seconds. Upgrading this relic will increase the duration.
