Tactics Ogre Reborn: Beginner’s Guide

The AI has been completely redone, so enemies can now change their strategies depending on what’s going on and in 3D. This makes for a combat system that always keeps you pondering and never gets old. This is a very beginner-friendly game, so in this guide, we will cover the things that aren’t explained well in the tutorial. Let’s get started.

Beginner’s Guide – Tactics Ogre Reborn

Archers Are Extremely Good

Archers are simply the best unit in the game. If you want to be better off with the whole progress of the game we definitely recommend that you stack up on as many archers are possible. At the moment they are OP.

They are cheap and can do a lot of damage if you position them correctly.

Ranged Attacks Over Melee

Talking about archers, any type of ranged attacks that you might be doing is much better than melee ones. Attacks from a distance, even past what the weapon’s range says it can do. If you’re in a good spot, you can shoot stuff from a long way away, and most of the time, you won’t get hit back.

Even if the aim is also an archer, you can’t be sure that their shot will even come close to you. This lets you weaken enemy troops or even get rid of them before they fight. This could mean blowing up their tank or just killing their healer with a sniper.

Use Knights Early On In The Game

There are a few good reasons to have knights around early on. They’re slow, which is a shame. Still, because Rampart Aura stops enemies from moving, you’ll want to maintain one along for some time to defend your back line. Avoid using the Phalanx skill. All it does is make the AI dismiss your knight and attack something else instead.

Revive Item

Something that gets skipped out on a lot and it isn’t really shown a lot in the tutorial of the game as well is the revive items. You will always want to be looking for one, either buying or obtaining it by loot.

Once you have one you will want to place it and equip it to the best character that you have. Yes, they are very expensive but trust us, it will be very worthwhile and it will cost you a whole lot less if your character dies and you need to replace it.

Get Dragons As Tanks

You will really want to be allying yourself with the biggest monsters in this game. Sometimes you will get this option instead of killing it.

If you do manage to ally a monster, definitely go for the dragon because in our opinion this is the best thank unit that you can use. When you combine it with the power of the archers you will be unstoppable.

You Don’t Have To Defeat Every Unit

This is a common misconception that a lot of players have in this game. You do not have to be hunting all of the enemies that might be stuck somewhere in a corner or a ditch.

Instead, you will just need to defeat the party’s enemy leader and you will be good to go. This way you can proceed through the levels faster and much easier.

Don’t Rush A Level

If you get to a level that seems too difficult and you find yourself stuck in, don’t rush it or even push it at all. Just go back to a different type of level, get much stronger with better exp and loot, and then proceed to return here.

For example, the Quadriga Fortress battle is a pain. you can go back and fight other story battles, then come back when you’re a bit more powerful. If you go for it immediately at level 5, it can be enjoyable since you might need to come up with a plan and be well-prepared by bringing multiple clerics.

However, it’s a tough fight because it’s all level 6-7 and you’re only level 5. The other battles in chapter 1 aren’t as hard.

That’s all the best beginner things that you need to know that aren’t explained in the tutorial! Other than that this game does a fantastic job of giving you the details and info and is a very beginner-friendly game. We hope that this guide has helped you out become a better Tactics Ogre Reborn played! Have fun!
