It is just natural and expected to know that the god of war and laws and at the same time, the son of Odin is in this game. Some of the reasons for you to encounter and meet him is through the favor, The Broken Prison.

The Broken Prison is a favor or a side quest that you can do inside the game. Although it is not necessary for the overall progress of the main game story plot, this will still help you learn some clues about the game’s lore and characters.

You are only able to unlock this favor once you have already completed The Realms at War.

Where to Find Tyr in The Broken Prison Favour in God of War Ragnarok

You can start and activate this favor by going first to the Mystic Gateway in The Raven Tree in Niflheim.

From the starting location, head straight until you reach the broken bridge before you get closer to the trees. Jump over the broken path and keep going straight.

Once you get to this area, proceed by heading down. As you keep going, the favor will automatically be unlocked.

Locate the Broken Prison

As you land on the surface, enemies will welcome you with a roar. Make sure to defeat them in order to proceed peacefully.

After clearing the area, move to the spot where the enemies came from and aim at this spot. Shoot your spear, and use it as a pole to swing yourself.

Jump into it and swing yourself to go to the lower floor. Make sure to defeat enemies per floor.

After defeating the enemies, look for this chain and interact with it to adjust the platform where your spear is stuck.

Then, go back to your spear and swing again going to the lower floor.

To reach the lower floors, even more, you have to do the same again with the spear by aiming at this spot, and then adjust again the chain located on your left.

Swing again and go down to the lower floor. As you land, reach the other spear that you have set up to push your body to the upper floor, and then interact with the chain again to raise the platform.

Climb to the upper floor using the spear again, and readjust the chain to bring it down again. Now, swing your body again going to the lower floor.

Walk around and reach the other spear to get down one floor again.

Find Tyr

On the last floor, you will see a big gate. Approach and interact with it to pull it up.

As you open it up, you will see Tyr inside and the favor is completed.
