In the favors quest “Scent of Survival”, Kratos and Freya follow the tracks of Helka. After a hearty chase, the chase was actually a way to lead us to Birgir, whom we will need to save. However, to do this you must first unlock the crater.

How to Catch Up to Helka

Before you encounter the part of the quest that unlocks the crater, you will first be required to catch up to Helka. Now, trying to chase a fast animal is quite difficult.

Luckily, she has left pawprints for Kratos to Track.

Simply, follow these tracks to catch up to Helka. After riding the boat, follow the paw prints to the path that leads upwards.

You will encounter enemy creatures on the way upward, so be prepared to defend yourself if you want to catch up.

How to Unlock the Crater

After catching up to Helka, Kratos and Freya will need to Ride the paper boat to reach the crater. Simply summon on when you interact with the gusting wind by the cliff.

Riding the paper boat, Kratos, Mimir, and Freya will do a bit of small talk while traversing the sky. Eventually, a dragon will swiftly pass through your boat causing everyone to fall from the sky.

Luckily, everyone survives with Kratos showcasing an epic landing using his shield. After the cutscene, Kratos and Freya will realize that they have already arrived at the crater.
