While the previous installment, Arceus, only tested the waters of open-world gameplay, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet completely mastered it.

The mainline series is revitalized by this fresh take on the tried-and-true Pokemon premise, resulting in one of the most complex and gratifying Pokemon excursions to date.

Non-linear progression is, however, where the game truly excels. Although Scarlet and Violet make some subtle attempts to direct you to particular locations.

Ultimately, what makes the vibrant new region of Paldea so memorable is how you forge your own path through it.

What sets Scarlet and Violet different from the other series is their freedom extends beyond the open world. Unlike previous games, there is no predetermined path through the storyline.

In fact, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet don’t even tell you how challenging a specific area is until you are actually there.

Unfortunately, this means not all abilities are unlocked in the tutorial. Fly or Glide is a valuable ability that you need to access certain areas of the map. In this guide, we will teach you how to unlock this ability.

Defeating Three Titans

You can take multiple paths in both Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, so your approach to unlocking different aspects of the game will most likely differ from everyone else’s. At the end, it is up to you what you choose to do first.

It’s a good idea to focus on the Titans as soon as possible because they unlock unique travel powers for Koraidon or Miraidon, allowing you to explore areas faster, reach new places, and catch new Pokemon.

The Glide Ability is unlockable by taking down three Titans. It doesn’t matter which one; you just need to take down three. The best way to unlock this is by doing the quest of gathering mythical herbs where you need to defeat Titans in each location.

A simpler way to unlock this is by heading to the Asado Desert where Titans can be found and defeating three.
