Helheim is the equivalent of Hell in Christianity. Unlike Hell though, where the sinners are to be cursed in eternal hellfire, Helheim is dark and cold, where the temperature is so cold that even the spirits of the dead are shivering, on the verge of freezing to death (if they can even die again). With that said, Kratos and his friends have travelled the freezing cold of Helheim once, and got out unscathed. Now back in the freezing realm, what kind of puzzles did they miss from their first adventure?
God of War Ragnarok – All Locked Door Puzzles Guide in Helheim
Puzzle 1
The first puzzle contains a gate that cannot be kept open unless you freeze the gear. However, the gate blocks the gear, preventing Kratos from throwing his axe. To solve this, you need to shoot three arrows. One at the gear, and the other two at the holes.
Use the wheel to bring the gate up as much as you can, then throw your axe at the arrow that’s not blocked by the gate. This will freeze the gear without having to throw the axe directly at it.
Puzzle 2
When you reach the second door puzzle, you will deal with the same dilemma. The gate will not remain open unless the gear is frozen. To solve this, you will need to place three arrows again, with one of the arrows near the gear and the other two near each other.
Use the wheel to open the gate. Look to your right and you should see the arrows close to the gear, and one sticking out at the top. Throw your axe at the top arrow and the gear will freeze, letting you continue.
Puzzle 3
When you have to leave Helheim, you will encounter another door puzzle. This one is a little tricky, as majority of the exposed weights are blocked, preventing you from shooting arrows to create a chain of reaction.
The trick here is to shoot the first arrow at the weight that is exposed before you use the wheel. With one arrow on the first stone, use the wheel and open the gate all the way. The left weight should have the top bit of it exposed, which you shoot an arrow at. Use the wheel and bring the left weight up until the bottom of it is visible. Shoot an arrow at it. With that ready, throw your axe and the gear should be frozen from the chain of explosions.
Puzzle 4
This is the last door puzzle, and this one is actually quite easy. There will be two holes you need to look out for when you shoot arrows. The first hole will be open to you. Shoot it, then use the wheel to open the gate. Stop when you see the second hole, then spin the wheel to fully open the gate. Throw your axe and the gate will remain open due to the chain of reaction from your axe throw.
