5 Best Games Like Elden Ring

The Souls-like soul lives on!

Dark Souls rocked the gaming world when it released earlier this year and with it came a flood of new players who saw this new souls-like game rise to the top. The game was simply amazing and is one of the best souls-like game that came out ever for most people. Not only did it make the old fans happy but it made new fans as well who just needed that slight push to go into souls-like games, instead they got a push down a ravine of death screens and beatings, which they most certainly loved. Not that the year is ending, here’s a list of games like Elden Ring for those who need to get that souls-like itch scratched!

Elden Ring: 5 Best Games Like It

Elden Ring is still a souls-like game, like how Bloodborne is in the same genre, Elden Ring is basically the peak of this genre. Still there are a lot of games out there that are in the same genre and offer the same feel in terms of gameplay, world design or even story that you might want to check out. Here are 5 games that fit into that Elden Ring mold.

Mortal Shell

Mortal Shell at first glance looks like a dark souls game, dark and gritty atmosphere, different enemies that can kill you until you get good, and different weapons to choose from. The difference with this game is not only do you get to choose what kind of weapon you’ll use, but the different bodies you use as well. The game has these shells that you can get that have different abilities, strengths and weaknesses and playstyles making for interesting and varied gameplay. The game can be quite short but for an indie title it gives a lot to the player.

Dark Souls 3

This may sound like a no brainer and most hardcore Elden Ring Fans may see this and think that it’s obvious, and some of them may even just play Dark Souls 3 again like me, but for the newer fans in the genre this is another great game to play. This game is the newest Dark Souls game out there and for those who want to jump into the series without going through the hoops of the older games can feel quite at home here.

Ashen

Another Indie title in the list, there’s quite a lot of indie souls-like games out there actually. Ashen is one of them and even though it doesn’t have the graphics of the other games in the list it does have a large open world for players to explore. Numerous enemies that you can fight as well as some challenging bosses and different weapons for you to choose from to suit your playtstyles. The game’s graphics isn’t cutting edge but it is stylized and has a certain charm to it, when you’re not being beaten to a pulp anyway.

Hollow Knight

This game isn’t even 3D and yet many players believe that this game is the closest we can get to a 2D platformer Dark Souls game and they’re not wrong. Hollow Knight is a must play for those who like exploration, action RPG gameplay with tough boss fights and even a story to follow. Don’t be fooled by it’s simple graphics because this game can be quite deep in both gameplay and story.

Dragon’s Dogma

Dragon’s Dogma is one of the classic open world action RPG’s out there and for good reason. The story may not be the best but it’s carried by it’s deep combat system and sometimes unforgiving fights. You can either be a sword swinging paladin or a mage that casts the most flashiest spells in all of gaming, this game is something you shouldn’t sleep on. It’s style is more rooted to JRPGs but don’t let it fool you, the monsters, quests and gameplay is top notch even after all these years!

Congratulations you now know some of the best games out there that’s like Elden Ring. I know these games aren’t exactly like Elden Ring but it’s big shoes to fill for the game of the year after all. These games can still give you lots of fun and challenge as well as some memorable adventures! So go try them out!
