Resource Guide For New Players – Destiny 2
Resources and How To Get Them
When you boot up the game and playthrough the intro and more, you’re going to find yourself with an abundance of items that you have no idea what they are for. Don’t worry, that’s normal for new players and it can be pretty overwhelming to look at. Luckily, you have this guide to help you out. Here’s what these resources are and how to get them:
- Legendary Shard – Dismantle Legendary and Exotic items (Weapons, Armor, Ghost Shells, Sparrows, and Ships)
- Glimmer – Acquired by killing enemies, looting chests, completing activities, and bounties, and dismantling items
- Ascendant Shards – Complete higher difficulty content like Master Nightfall Strikes or the Flawless from Trials of Osiris, complete Event Challenges and quests (like the Dawning), trade 10 Enhancement Prisms + 50k Glimmer, and do the seasonal progression and rank up rewards from vendors
- Ascendant Alloys – Complete activities like Nightmare Containment on the Moon, as well as Weekly Witch Queen campaign missions. You can also do Event Challenges and Quests or buy them from Master Rahool for 400 Legendary Shards
- Enhancement Prisms – Can be acquired by buying them from Master Rahool with Enhancement Cores or completing difficult content. Can also dismantle high energy armor to get them
- Enhancement Cores – You can play through low difficulty content and dismantle Legendary or Exotic gear. You can get Gunsmith bounties from Banshee-44 and dismantling items with Masterwork level 7 or more (same as high energy armor)
