While Light Runic Attacks are great to have, we should also not forget the Heavy Runic Attacks. These Runic Attacks hit harder, stun harder, and can do massive Frost damage. However, they take longer to cooldown compared to the Light Runic Attack. But similar to the Light Runic Attack, you can only have one equipped at a time. But which one is the best option for the Heavy Runic Attack? Here, we will show you a tier list of the best Heavy Runic Attacks from worst to best.
Leviathan Axe Heavy Runic Attacks Tier List – God of War Ragnarök
Heavy Runic Attacks Tier List
Similar to the Light Runic Attacks, there are 5 Heavy Runic Attacks you can find in God of War Ragnarok. Each Runic Attack is different from one another. Some are good for crowd control, some are good for damage, and some are a combination of both. However, you can only equip one, just like the Light Runic Attack, so which one is the best?
5. Fog of Fimbulwinter
The Fog of Fimbulwinter is essentially Winter’s Bite, but on steroids. This is pretty much a much tricked up version of the Light Runic Attack, so there’s not much to say about it. But it is much weaker compared to the other Heavy Runic Attacks, which is why it’s the last on the list.
4. Leviathan’s Roar
You remember how in the MCU when Thor would hit Captain America’s shield and then a large shockwave blows everyone back? That’s essentially Leviathan’s Roar. Kratos will throw the Leviathan Axe at the enemy of your choosing and then when the axe comes back, it will hit the shield, causing a powerful shockwave to blow everyone in front of the shield back.
It’s a pretty great move, but it’s not very powerful (damage wise). However, the added knockback to the enemies is pretty much why this move is higher up the list than Fog of Fimbulwinter.
3. Mists of Helheim
The Mists of Helheim is a great Heavy Runic Attack because the Frost status is maxed out. When you trigger the attack, Kratos will attack the floor, causing a mist to come out and freeze the area surrounding you. Anyone who is in the zone will be frozen, and anyone who enters will slowly freeze. It’s a great attack to have when you’re surrounded.
2. Ivaldi’s Anvil
This one is pretty much Mists of Helheim, but without the freezing part. Kratos will hit the ground once (twice if you upgraded the move) and each strike will unleash a frost attack that will freeze the surrounding enemies. It’s a very simple but effective attack, as anyone who is affected is either frozen or stunned, leaving them open to your next attack.
1. Breath of Thamur
This one is the best Heavy Runic Attack to get, but it is also the hardest one, as the game requires you to hunt down all of Odin’s Ravens (yes, all of them) before you can get it. But once you do, it will be worth it because Kratos raises his axe in the air and a gust of wind will swirl around Kratos, damaging anyone who is unlucky to have been caught in the area of effect.
