Any game is great with friends, be it a well-made game or an asset flip game that you got out of a dumpster. Fooling around with friends, learning the ropes of the game together, and having a generally fun time is what co-op games are for. There are not a lot of co-op games out there but the ones that exist are usually solid enough to play.
Smalland is one of the newest games out there that features survival crafting mechanics as you play as little fey creatures trying to survive in the wilds. The big question is, will it have multiplayer? Let’s find out!
All Multiplayer & Co-Op Details | Smalland – Is It Multiplayer?
For those who want to play with your friends in Smalland we have some good news for you. Not only does the game release with multiplayer already there, but it also has 8-player co-op which honestly should be standard instead of 4.
Yes, that’s correct, the game has multiplayer, and you can host a server and play with your friends with no problem.
Right now, there’s no way to make a dedicated server though but the devs have said that they’re planning on having it in the future.
As for multiplayer features, there’s no PVP game mode in the game yet but it is planned for the far future. For now, if you want to do PVP with your friends you’ll need to turn on the friendly fire to do some not-so-friendly damage.
Progress is tracked by the character you create so you can join a friend’s fresh server with an already kitted-out character and vice versa. That means all of your stats and inventory carries on with you when you join a server.
