It’s a game with a sizable following that keeps on getting updated regularly for everyone to enjoy. The game even has a thriving economy for those who like to play the markets in MMOs. If you’re starting out in the game though you should know about the zones.

In this guide we’ll show you what the different zone types are. This is important since it can easily ruin your experience if you go to the wrong zone! Now let’s see what the different zones are!

Zone Types Explained | Albion Online

Albion Online is a game that has a big focus on PVP, that shows in their different zones. When you look at the map for the first time, you’ll see next to the zone names is a colored diamond. That’s the zone color or type, and you need to know what happens in those zones.

There’s a total of 4 zones in the game. Each of them has different ways to handle PVP as well as what kind of resources and enemies you can find. Here are all the different zone types in the game:

Blue Zone

This is the only zone that has no PVP in the game. Usually, you get your starter materials here and fight monsters as you level up and get better gear. These zones are usually used for low tier resource gathering and crafting as well as trading routes.

Yellow Zone

Yellow zone is where there’s PVP but non-lethal. That means that if you die in these zones through PVP you don’t lose any gear, you just lose durability.

Players can flag themselves for PVP and you can see how many players are flagged on the lower right of the screen. To the left of the zone name is the number of flagged players for PVP in the zone.

Red Zone

These zones are full loot PVP ones, that means you lose all your items when you die here. These zones also are usually the ones that have higher tier resources and mobs. You will still get reputation loss though when you kill a player not flagged for PVP.

Black Zone

When you’re in a black zone you’re automatically flagged for PVP. These zones are full-loot PVP and there is no reputation loss when killing other players. The only black zones you can go to are in the outlands and they offer the best resources and loot in the game.

Congratulations you now know how the different zones work in Albion Online. Now go out there and try the game out, just remember the different zones and be careful in the RED and Black zones!
