There’s a lot of stuff you can do in Sea of Thieves and with each content patch there’s more and more to do. One of the things you can do is hunting for the Sterling Silver Key, one of the new voyages in the game. This voyage has multiple parts and span a lot of the islands in the game, and it involves a lot of digging and solving riddles.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to do this voyage to its completion. So, get your boat ready and bring your best shovel because we’ll be digging a lot!
Hunt for the Sterling Silver Key Voyage Guide
The Hunt for the Sterling Silver Keys require you to get a few things before you reach the end. There’s a lot of riddles as well that you need to solve to go to the right island. In this guide, we’ll skip on solving the riddles and go straight to the islands but will explain briefly how we get there through the riddles.
Here are the steps we’ll be taking to finish this Voyage:
- Enter the code in the Sea of Thieves website;
- Buy the Hunt for the Sterling Key Voyage from Larinna;
- Find the Mysterious Journal and solve the Riddle;
- Find the first set of missing pages in the Old Faithful Isle;
- Find the second set of missing pages in the Galleon’s Grave Outpost;
- Finally find the chest in Kraken’s Fall and complete the voyage!
Starting the Voyage
This is Part 3 of a multi-part puzzle and the previous one is the Argent Key. If you haven’t done that voyage yet, then you should do it first. In our guide on the Hunt for the Argent Key, we’ll show you how to complete that voyage so check that one out!
To start the voyage, you’ll first need login to your account in the official Sea of Thieves website and solve the riddle there. It’s a difficult riddle that the community had to work hard for and the code in the end is “3GDURG.”
Once you input that on the website you can then go into the game and talk to Larinna which you can find in any outpost. From her you’ll need to buy the Hunt for the Sterling Silver Key just like the other previous puzzles.
You’ll then need to go to your ship and set it as your voyage.
Finding the Mysterious Journal
Next step is to find the Mysterious Journal. When you start the voyage, you’ll get a map in your quest radial menu. It’s a random island nearby with the X marking the spot. Go to that island and locate the X.
Once you get to the X that marks the spot, get your shovel and start digging. This will give you the Mysterious Journal!
The First Set of Missing Pages
In the Mysterious Journal are clues and riddles that will point you to the next destination. The next island you’ll want to go is the Old Faithful Isle which is at M-4 and N-4 of the map.
You’ll want to park your ship on the island’s south beach near the wind buoy. Walk to the north through the stone tunnel until you reach a fork on the road. Go to the right.
There you’ll find some suspended cages and a pulley. Use the pulley to lower one of the cages and go inside of it to go up.
Once you reach the top head left and go up the ladder there. Once you climb up the ladder look to the west, and you’ll see a broken bridge that is in the shape of an “X.” Head over there and drop down directly under the X Bridge.
Make sure that your health is at full to survive the fall.
Directly below of that X Bridge is a couple of planks that is shaped into an X as well. Dig near it and you’ll find the first set of missing pages!
The Second Set of Missing Pages
The Missing Pages will be added into the Mysterious Journal and will add even more riddles. These riddles will lead you to Back Sand Atoll, Marauder’s Arch, and finally to the Galleon’s Grave’s Outpost. That outpost is at R-8 of the map.
Park your ship to the north side of the outpost docks and walk along the northeast beach looking for the bones shown below.
Under the bones is a skeleton that’s been crushed by it. Next to it is where you’ll dig and you’ll find the final set of Missing Pages.
Finding the Chest
Like the first set of missing pages, it’ll be added into the Mysterious Journal. That means more riddles to solve that will first lead you to Skull Keep, Tri-Rock Isle, Liar’s Backbone and finally Kraken’s fall. That Island is at R-12 and R-13 of the map.
Once in Kraken’s Fall head to the top of the mountain and look for the rocks there that has a lantern next to it. It’s easier to see if you go to the beach where there’s a shipwreck with a Kraken’s Head and go to the path going up from there.
Dig near the Lantern and you’ll finally find the chest and complete the voyage!
