Alan Wake 2 features the return of our favorite writer and protagonist, Alan Wake. In the newest entry to Remedy’s Alan Wake franchise, Alan must find a way to escape the Dark Place and defeat the Dark Presence with the help of Saga Anderson.
During his journey in the Dark Place, Alan will have to find murder sites that get him to talk to Saga. In this guide, I will show you how to find inspiration in the Collapsed Tunnel, which prevents Alan from continuing his search for a murder site.
Find Inspiration in the Collapsed Tunnel
When you make it to the Collapsed Tunnel, you will need to go to the Plot Board and use the Missing FBI Location plot to change the appearance of the Collapsed Tunnel.
With the appearance of the area changing, you will find that there is another Echo that you can listen to.
Align the black sphere to the Echo and you will start to hear two police officers talking. Hear them out until the conversation ends.
After listening to the conversation in the Echo, continue moving forward until you reach another area that is covered in light.
You will also find a train car blocking your way to another Echo that you need to hear. To get rid of the train car, simply use the Lamp to remove the light, which removes the train car as well.
With the train car removed, you can now continue forward and align the black sphere to the Echo to listen to the next monologue by Alex Casey.
After listening to the monologue, you will get a new Plot Element called Murder Cult. Once you have this plot element, turn around and head back to the Collapsed Tunnel area.
When you enter the Collapsed Tunnel area, you can now change the Plot Element from Missing FBI Agent to Murder cult.
With the Murder Cult Plot Element now active, the area around you will change. You should see an altar with a book on it. Approach the altar and examine the book.
At this point, you should have a light charge in your Lamp. Backtrack a bit until you reach the flooded stairway.
With the light charge in your lamp, use it to change the scenery of the area, removing the water and allowing you to continue moving forward.
Go down the stairs and you will reach a new area of the subway tunnels. Along the way, you will find Tim Breaker in another room, but that’s entirely optional.
Just keep going forward until you go down this hall. Be careful, as there is an enemy behind the door at the end of the hall. It’s only one enemy, which can easily be taken out if you’re quick.
Once the enemy is dead, continue forward and you will find another safe area where you can manage your inventory and save your progress.
When you’re done with all you need to do, continue moving forward by going up the ladder to the side.
When you go up the ladder, you will finally make it to the Derailed Station scene. Here, the objective will be completed and you will need to complete the next objective.
