It’s hard to play a game of chess without all of the chess pieces, right? So it seems that in Genshin Impact, we may have lost a couple of pieces here, specifically 6 of them. However, finding them is no trouble in this modern age of gaming. You want to know why? One word: guides. That’s right, if you’re here trying to find a guide that can help you find all of the 6 chess pieces in Genshin Impact, and 7 activation devices, then you’ve come to the right place because we can lead you to where they are exactly.
Genshin Impact – All Chess Pieces and Activation Devices Locations
Khaj-Nisut Chess Piece
The first chess piece can be found in the Wounded Shin Valley and It’s called the Khaj-Nisut Chess Piece.
You can find the chess piece in this chest here, in the middle of the area.
Border Fort Chess Piece
The second chess piece is the Border Fort chess piece, which can be found as you explore deeper into Mt. Damavand. You can use the Teleport Waypoint to get to the area quickly.
Once you make it to the area, you should find a cubed mechanism that you need to unlock first by defeating an enemy. Once the enemy is defeated, you can then use the cube mechanism to unlock the door, which also spawns the chest containing the Border Fort chess piece.
Soulferry Chess Piece
The next chess piece is the Soulferry chess piece, which can be found near The Sands of Three Canals area on the map. Use the Teleport Waypoint to get to the location quickly.
The chest that contains the chess piece can be found in the middle of the path.
King Deshret’s Pillar Chess Piece
Up next is the King Deshret’s Pillar chess piece, which can be found in between Wounded Shin Valley and Safhe Shatranj on the map. It’s actually found deep in the cave system in Mt. Damavand, so you will need to go there.
You can find the chest that contains the chess piece at the base of a large tree.
Temple of Gurabad Chess Piece
The Temple of Gurabad chess piece can be found in the depths of the Mt. Damavand cave system. However, you can take the “The Falcon’s Hunt” quest to make guiding you to the chest easier.
The quest will take you to a location where you have to pick up an item for the quest. Beside it, there is an Exquisite Chest that you can open to get the Temple of Gurabad chess piece.
Where to Use the Chess Pieces
Now that you have all of the chess pieces, all that’s left is using them. You can find the location of where you need to use it in the Safhe Shatranj area.
When you get there, you will see glowing blue outlines coming from the ground in certain spots. Just approach each spot and you will be given the option to put the chess piece on it.
All Activation Devices – King Deshret’s Pillar Activation Device
There are 7 Activation Devices to be found in Genshin Impact, and you can find them in the easiest places, or the hardest places. The first one to find is the King Deshret’s Pillar Activation Device, which can be found inside The Mausoleum of King Deshret.
You can find the Activation Device deep in the mausoleum. It will start moving once you approach it, but it will stop in the blue pyramid.
Border Port Activation Device
The second Activation Device can be found in Aaru Village.
When you approach the Activation Device, it will start to move away from you. It’s not very fast and you can easily catch up to it. Just keep following it until it eventually stops, allowing you to pick it up.
Soiulferry Activation Device
The third Activation Device is the Soulferry one. You can find it in the Khemenu Temple. To get to where you need to be, use the Teleport Waypoint that’s right next to the Khemenu Temple in the map.
Just like the others, this Activation Device will move away from you once you approach. It’s not fast, so you can easily follow it and pick it up once it stops.
Khaj-Nisut Activation Device
The next Activation Device can be found in Khaj-Nisut.
The Activation Device can be found near the entrance to the temple. Once you approach it, it will start moving deeper into the temple. Follow it and pick it up once it stops.
Temple of Gurabad Activation Device
The next Activation Device can be found in the Temple of Gurabad. To get there, you will need to use the Teleport Waypoint near Safhe Shatranj.
Once you have teleported to the waypoint, you will have to climb up until you reach an entrance to the temple, where you can see the Activation Device floating at the entrance. Approach it and it will start moving, which you then have to follow it and pick it up once it stops.
The Mausoleum of King Deshret Activation Device (Requires The Fallen Falcon Quest)
Before you can find the Activation Device in The Mausoleum of King Deshret, you will first need to have done The Fallen Falcon quest (which we have a guide for).
After you have completed the quest, use the Teleport Waypoint inside the mausoleum to get to the entranced. Once you spawn in, you will find the Activation Device floating in the main pathway. Follow it once it starts moving and pick it up once it stops.
Deshret’s Glass Goblet Activation Device (Requires The Fallen Falcon Quest)
The last Activation Device can be found in Deshret’s Glass Goblet. You will need to use the Teleport Waypoint near Mt. Damavand to get to the area quickly. Just like the last Activation Device, this requires The Fallen Falcon to be completed.
This Activation Device moves around quite a lot when approached, but it will stop just like the others. Once you pick it up, then you will have all Activation Devices at your disposal.
