Whether you’re just starting your journey in Anime Saga or aiming to optimize your team for the most challenging stages, knowing which units stand out is crucial. With countless characters inspired by beloved anime franchises (Chainsaw being my main pick), it can be tough to decide who’s worth investing in.
That’s why I’ve compiled a definitive tier list of the best units in Anime Saga that you can use to help you decide which ones to invest in!
This guide ranks units from S-Tier to D-Tier, considering their damage output, cooldowns, AoE potential, crowd control, survivability, and overall versatility in both early-game and late-game content.
All Units in Anime Saga Ranked

S-Tier: Best of the Best
These are the top-tier units. The ones everyone wants on their team. They hit hard, work in almost any situation, and make clearing content way easier. If you manage to get one of these, hang onto them—you can’t go wrong with either of the ones in this section.
- Zid – Top-tier AoE damage with built-in healing and invincibility, making him nearly unkillable.
- Remu – Incredible damage dealer with wide AoE range and rare drop rate.
- Frierin – Versatile pick with great damage, defensive skills, and reliable crowd control.
- Chainsaw – A boss-shredding powerhouse with devastating burst potential.
- Rohan – Fast and consistent attacker with short cooldowns and high DPS.
- Zoru – Known for his double-hit mechanics, effective against both mobs and bosses.
A-Tier: They Are A-Okay!
These units are great all-rounders. They may not be as flashy as the characters in S-Tier, but they’re still super solid picks and will carry you through a good chunk of the game.
- Doma – Great crowd control abilities, making him a reliable team player.
- Okarun – Fast clears and decent damage, though not quite on par with the best.
- Inos – Capable of high burst damage, held back only by slower cooldowns.
- Mochi – Strong all-rounder with AoE and utility skills, though easily outclassed at higher levels.
- Vogita – Hits air units and provides solid coverage in early to mid-game.
B-Tier: Not Bad, Just Not the Best
These units can get the job done, especially early on. They’re decent if you’re just getting started or filling gaps in your team, but they’ll probably get replaced once you pull stronger characters.
- Sake – Unique electric attacks with a chance to stun enemies.
- Agony – Offers decent crowd control, but damage is lacking.
- Nezu – Effective in early stages with his combo-centric playstyle.
- Sanjo – Quick and useful in beginner content, but not viable long-term.
C-Tier: Not the Most Ideal Choice
These characters don’t bring much to the table. They might help out for a bit when you’re just starting, but you’ll want to swap them out as soon as something better comes along.
- Ichigan – Basic abilities and low impact overall.
- Itadoru – Lacks distinguishing skills and falls behind in damage output.
- Tanjigo – Underwhelming performance, especially in tougher content.
- Roku – Weak stats and utility that make progression harder.
D-Tier: Don’t Go For These
Unless you’re collecting for fun or running low on options, these units are best avoided. They won’t do much to help your progress and are mostly outclassed by just about everyone else.
- Usoap – Minimal damage and lacks any significant utility.
- Noroto – Abilities are too weak to make a meaningful impact.
- Luffo – Simply doesn’t hold up against better units in any area.
This Anime Saga tier list is designed to help you focus your time, effort, and in-game currency on characters that truly shine. While some units may fit specific niche strategies or team comps, prioritizing S and A-Tier units will offer the most consistent results.
As the game continues to update and evolve, expect this list to shift, so stay tuned for future revisions! If you need more currency to help build up your units, check out my guide on how to farm Gems, Gold, and Trait Rerolls in Anime Saga.
