Best Unit Tier List (Update 1)
The game is always changing, and with new characters dropping, the rankings can flip pretty quickly. With the arrival of Update 1, I’m here to break down the strengths and weaknesses of each unit so you can put together the best team possible. Whether you’re all about dishing out damage, controlling the battlefield, or supporting your squad, this list will help you figure out which units to grab and level up as you dive into Story and Infinite modes.
SS-Tier (Best of the Best!)
These are the absolute top-tier units in the game, the ones that stand out for their versatility, damage, and utility. If you manage to get your hands on any of these units, you’ll have a significant advantage in most game modes, including both Story and Infinite modes.
- Gojo: The current king of the game. His full AoE and game-breaking time-stop ability make him essential. He not only freezes enemies but also buffs his own damage during the stop, making him insanely powerful. Perfect for every mode.
- Alucard: Alucard shines due to his Wounded debuff, increasing enemy damage taken by 20%. This makes him a must-have support for any team, amplifying total damage output significantly.
- Toji: Toji’s high DPS combined with his ability to target multiple enemies at once makes him an emerging top pick. He excels at boss-killing and is great for wave-clear thanks to his precision and damage. His skills are especially useful in higher-level content where burst damage matters most.
- Tengen: A strong full AoE unit with good damage. Not quite as irreplaceable as Gojo or Alucard, but still a solid choice for clearing waves in Infinite mode.
- Rengoku & Igris: Both are strong, but with the rise of new units, they may start to feel outclassed. Rengoku’s burn damage and Igris’ solid DPS still make them reliable choices for now.
- Sukuna (Expected): Sukuna is predicted to be a bleed-based DPS unit with insane burst potential. He could rival Gojo in raw power once released.
Meta Support
In terms of support, units like Pain for pushback and Crocodile for slow are still relevant, but there are newer options coming in that might shake things up. For example, Toge’s ability to swap units with “Boogie Woogie” is really powerful in the right situations.
Haruka Rin is easily the one of the best support right now. You can’t clear some game modes without her. If you’ve got her, evolve her ASAP. She boosts your team’s damage like crazy. As the game’s two only true money-generating unit right now, Speedwagon and Takaroda are hands down the most valuable epics you can get.
S-Tier
- Choso: One of the best Mythic units from the latest update, especially if you lack Alucard. His full AoE bleed damage is a huge asset, making him highly valuable in both story and Infinite modes.
- Jogo: A strong contender with high AoE burn damage and the Domain Expansion ability. He’s essentially an upgraded version of Obito, making him a solid addition to any team, especially for crowd control.
- Vegeta: Reliable and cost-efficient unit with a solid AoE cone attack. He’s great for early to mid-game but begins to taper off in power when compared to the SS-tier units.
- Song Jinwu: He has been nerfed, making him slightly weaker, but still solid. He can summon, deal high damage, and buff your defenses.
A-Tier
Moving into higher-tier Mythics, units like Obito are still strong, but they are getting a bit outdated. Some of the newer Mythics are just better overall, but if you get Obito (Awakened), he’s still useful.
Support
Now, let’s talk about support units. The meta is a bit weird right now because some of these units do similar things, but they have slight differences. For example, Pain has a pushback ability, but Aki also has that, though it’s a bit buggy. Regardless, you should collect these support units at your own pace.
B-Tier
For the B tier, these are solid units that can help if you’re early in the game. They’re not too rare and can make your journey easier. For example, Kizaru, Itachi, and Goku Black are very good options. Killua is decent too, though he’s easier to get since he’s an Epic.
C-Tier & D-Tier
If a unit is in C or D tier, there’s no need for much explanation—they’re not great. These are typically Epic or Rare units, or weak Legendaries. Use them if you get them, but don’t waste your resources leveling them up. Save that for your Mythics.
