Anime Vanguards released recently, and it is yet another grindy tower defense game that has some mechanics that you can minmax through playing normally. In this guide, we will be showing you how to get a lot of takedowns as fast as possible on any single unit that you have. This will require you to have already progressed a bit, but that shouldn’t be an issue.

Best Way to Get Takedowns Guide

So, you are thinking about rerolling stats for one of your units. You have probably noticed the Takedowns counter under a character’s portrait, which dictates their stat potential when rerolling.

The best way to do this is to start a paragon run, which requires you to have already completed the first six levels of a region. This works in either normal or nightmare, so just pick whichever you want. You only need takedowns, so easier is probably going to be better.

In this example, we are only picking normal difficulty at just Paragon Level 4, which means we only have a few modifiers to choose from. The modifiers are what make and break this method.

Once you get in, you will want to pick the Thrice modifier. This is the only essential part of the run because it will let you kill more enemies for free. Of course, don’t forget to have the desired unit in your loadout.

If you didn’t get even a single Thrice modifier, you will have to leave the game and then try again until you do. It is pretty much the one thing that you need for this strategy.

Depending on what units you brought with you, Shielded and Fast Enemies are two things you don’t want to have. The former is easy to deal with if you have someone like Kinaru, though. Just pick Thrice whenever it shows up and you’ll be absolutely fine.

Once you load in, this is where you will see the next reason why Paragon is great for cheesing takedowns. You start off with a lot of money, allowing you to immediately plop down the unit that you are trying to raise takedowns for.

In the example image below, we are trying to level up Kinaru. Because of that, we already have two of him heavily upgraded by wave 6. With the Thrice modifier and some Alligators for support, he is already racking up hundreds of kills with little effort.

Even if you leave or fail the run, you get to keep the takedowns that they scored throughout the level. Because of that, you don’t really need to sweat it too much. As long as the unit you want to reroll is getting kills, you will do fine.

And that is everything you need to know in order to rack up a lot of takedowns in the game. On that note, if you are wondering what characters are worth rerolling and eventually grinding takedowns on, then check out our best units tier list for Anime Vanguards for some advice!
