Yar’Thul Complete Guide

We’re going to start with registering with the itinerant, showing you the way to Mount Thul, learning the attack patterns of Yar’thul, and then preparing against them.

First, you want to register the location with the NPC outside the city gate. Talk to the Itinerant and pick The Old Ruins (94). Now we’re going to head over to the boss location.

Mount Thul

Go through the Crossing and stay on the path that leads to the desert area, Waving Sands. Follow the sparsely bricked pathway which leads to the The Old Ruins which is going to where you orientate yourself. From between the buildings, look out the other side of the town and keep going until you find these giant bones.

Go past the graveyard and you’ll end up in Mount Thul and from here, there are two routes to take before reaching the boss. The one in the middle will pitch you against 2-3 Magma Golems or Crabs.

The other route to the right is a parkout route which could be the better choice for soloist who’s already used to the route. Or for a group who wants to avoid wasting resources with mobs before reaching the big boss.

Team Composition

In normal circumstances, you want at least a team of 2 or 3 for this boss fight. Especially if this is your first time, you just don’t want to waste your time going solo there. In an ideal team of four, 3 DPS with 1 Healer/buffer is the best way to go about it and you should be fine even if the battle is stretched.

What are bad characters to bring to the fight? In short, nothing is especially horrible against him, but Necromancers aren’t the best DPS to bring to the match. But their resurrection can be a card that turns the tides, so don’t sleep on them just yet.

Yar’thul Boss Fight

Bring enough health and energy potions for obvious reasons. Drink one energy drink before entering the fight.

  • Yar’thul always starts the fight with Inferno which has guaranteed hit. Inferno’s stack increases every round, so the longer the fight, the harder it is on your party.
  • Hellfire, another guaranteed hit skill, deals 3 stacks of Burn every hit, dealing a total of 9 stacks of Burn after 3 hits. More reasons to carry a lot of health potions.

  • Yar’thul’s basic attack Fire Claw gives 3 stacks of Burn despite you blocking it or not.
  • Blaze Eruption is a skill that prioritize hitting targets with Burn or any random target. Cannot be blocked nor dodged and inflicts 3 stacks of Inferno.
  • Magma Pillar creates a wall that inflicts you with 2 stacks of Inferno and 5 stacks of Burn whenever you use a physical attack. Make use of this time to buff yourself and use ranged attack to avoid getting damaged.
  • Blaze Core is both good and bad. It reduces half the party’s Inferno stacks but in return, heals himself between 50-450 hp.
  • Magma Beam is a move that charges for one round before dealing a major AoE damage on the next. It inflicts 4 Burn stacks on the sole target and allows Yar’thul to make another move right away. Guard.
  • Armageddon triggers when he’s under half HP and has 5 energy. Use Weaken on him to reduce the damage and guard.

Good luck! I hope this Yar’thul guide will help you to finally slay the dragon in Arcane Lineage.
