Arcane Odyssey: Which Is The Best Ship In The Game?

When you’re given a plethora of options it’s kinda difficult to make the right choice unless you really have a solid preference. That would make things easier as you simply won’t care for stats or pretty numbers, having what you like is all the dopamine you need.

The only thing that’s set in stone for Arcane Odyssey is that you won’t be getting far on your Rowboat, not all first items given to you turn out to be what you’ll bring in the end game so let’s go island hopping in this guide and find you your Mary Celeste!

Which Is The Best Ship In The Game? | Arcane Odyssey

Right now there are only four ships in the game, three if you exclude the Rowboat that you should really replace as soon as you get to Redwake Island.

The ships will have level requirements as well so be mindful of that as you further progress into the game.

Sailboat

Your first ship will always be the Sailboat, get this from the shipwright from Redwake after doing a little bit of questing to graduate from your ding dinghy.

Carrying cargo between points A and B will be made easier as there is a significant difference in size between this and your first boat.

With a durability of 1200, it can fair against the elements for a bit until you have to sail back to the nearest port. This is something you should avoid as a sailboat really isn’t made for fighting. It does have the highest turning stat in the game due to its size so bobbing and weaving between heavier ships shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

Caravel

The next upgrade in line is the Caravel, favored by Portuguese and Spanish explorers during the Age of Discovery. They were even crazy enough to send these things across the Atlantic!

You can purchase this piece of history at Frostmill Island for 1250 galleons, that’s good value as you will be using this ship for a good chunk of the game.

Of course with a durability of 2500, it simply outclasses the sailboat with no further argument needed.

You can defend yourself more now as it holds more crew and cannons and it’s even faster than the Sailboat, so if you’re ever in a bind you still have a chance of escaping if the glory isn’t worth the damage you’ll be paying for.

Ketch

If an all-out war against the queen and her subjects is what you’re after but don’t want to participate in line battles (you won’t it’s not in the game) then the Ketch is what you’re going to need to give your foes the business!

It will take at least a few shots to your stern or bow before you start saying “ow” as this ship has a base durability of 4000! That was a joke, by the way, don’t take shots to the front and back, repairing puncture holes is a headache.

Buy the ship over at the Sailor’s Lodge just north of Ravena once you reach a level of 75 or higher, and bring 3000 gold with you too!

Now if turning speed is what you’re after then the Ketch will obviously have less of that compared to the Caravel so you may want to maintain distance if you ever encounter a fleet of those while you’re out in the open.

Caravel

Easily the best ship would be the Caravel, but each ship serves a different purpose. If you’re insane and like the thrill of one-sided battles then going up against a Ketch or two will definitely keep your blood pumping.

The Ketch puts your mind at ease when you’re out at sea as you know you’ll have a fair chance of surviving an encounter if you play your cards right, the Caravel has more mobility so it’s easier to sail around a Ketch while giving it a wide berth at the same time. It’s all situational.

One more thing, if you happen to be a criminal then you’re only options for making purchases will be limited to Darkpine Isle, The Forest of Cernunno, and Whitesummit.

Not too big of a deal since you can always reset your reputation back to neutral by talking to John Vasquez at the Redcorner, all he’ll ask for absolving you of your sins is 50 galleons.

Now you’re ready to take on the world, get even more Galleons and you can even purchase upgrades to further boost the stats of your ship!

Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
