How to Get Double Dungeon Runes
You have two reliable methods to acquire the DD Rune:
- Crafting it using 10 Rank Up runes.
- Purchasing it from the Rune Shop for 200 tickets.
Choosing between crafting and buying will depend on what you prefer. For instance, active dungeon grinders may prefer crafting, while players who don’t mind spending might opt for convenience.
Why the DD Rune Matters: Awakening Simplified
One of the most impactful uses of the DD Rune is to streamline the Awakening process. It is important to note that you can only trigger Awaken after you defeat the Statue Boss. This appears exclusively in a Double Dungeon inside Leveling City. Awakening grants a permanent boost of +25 shadow levels and +15% shadow damage, making it a critical step in any player’s progression.
Using a DD Rune on a Leveling City dungeon guarantees the Statue boss will appear, removing any uncertainty. You can initiate the boss fight after you defeat the Monarch boss. This allows you to plan and helps you execute Awaken.
For best results, it’s advised to clear out unnecessary Shadows and weapons in your inventory before attempting the fight, as the statue boss’s health scales with the items that you have.

Farming Benefits Beyond Awakening
Even after you’ve Awakened, the DD Rune remains a powerful tool. Applying it to any dungeon, not just those in Leveling City, gives you twice the boss encounters, doubling your chances to farm for specific equipment, Shadows, or additional Rank Up Runes.
This increased control over Rank Up Rune farming allows you to craft more DD Runes or save them to eventually create Ultra Rank Up Runes. If you’re still grinding for high-end materials or rare drops, using DD Runes on dungeons outside of Awakening becomes a solid strategy.
Unlocking Relic Power: Black Monarch Sigil and Eye of Ascension
Two new relics introduced in this update are closely tied to the Double Dungeon mechanic. These play a vital role in boosting Rank Up luck!
Black Monarch Sigil
This relic drops from the Monarch boss in any Double Dungeon, including those within Infernal Castle. It provides a 156% increase to Rank Up luck, making it a powerful addition to any loadout focused on farming rare shadows or ranks.
Eye of Ascension
The Eye of Ascension is only obtainable by defeating the Statue Boss within a Leveling City Double Dungeon. While this means it’s only accessible post-Awakening, its value remains high thanks to its synergy with the Sigil in increasing rankup probabilities.
Together, at SS rank, these relics offer a combined 486% boost to Rank Up luck!

How Rankup Luck Changes the Game
To understand just how impactful these relics are, consider the base odds of Arising a Magma boss in the Infernal Castle. Suppose there’s a 10% chance for a boss to Arise as G-rank, and another 10% for it to become a rarer version. Without any bonuses, your effective chance of getting an unranked Magma to Arise is just 1% (the result of 10% multiplied by 10%).
With the relics active and Rank Up luck raised to 586% (base 100% + 486% bonus), your effective Arise chance jumps to approximately 5.86%. This solid increase drastically improves your odds of obtaining high-tier Shadows from elite content, including Dedu Raids, Winter Raids, and late-game bosses.
