Besides Gear Chests, there’s other methods of acquiring high-value weapons and armor in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. For instance, you can also get them by complete certain contracts in the game. If you’re interested in getting the Rostam Sword, I got you covered! In this guide, I’ll show you how to get the sword as well as its upgrades.
Before we get into the nitty-gritty, you might want to check out How to Get Rostam Dagger & All Upgrade Locations!
How to Get Rostam Sword & All Upgrade Locations
In order to get the Rostam Sword and its Upgrade Schematics, you’ll have to complete a Total of 3 Contracts.
I’ll provide step-by-step instructions on how to complete each contract, as well as how you’ll be able to get them in the first place. Let’s jump right into it!
NOTE: The Rostam Sword will be acquired after you complete the First Contract from the three contracts. After acquiring the sword, all the other contracts will reward you with upgrades.
How to Get Contracts
Before we proceed, it’s required to complete the “Zeroing In” objective within the Main Questline. Once you’ve accomplished this, the available contracts will become accessible directly from the Contract Board.
The Contract Board is located within the Hidden One’s Bureau and is affixed to one of its walls. Interacting with this board is all that’s needed to accept the task of your choice.
Afterwards, you can navigate to the Investigations menu to find the contract session. From there, open the session and enable tracking to have it displayed on your map.
1st Location – The Weapons Dealer Contract
First off, you’ll have to locate the Weapons Dealer in the Residential District near the Basra Gate located in the Round City as shown in the image below.
Use your Eagle Eye to spot the NPC more easily. Interact with him to start a dialogue, he’ll then let you know that he needs help to be escorted out of the city safely.
For this contract, you’ll have to keep following the Weapons Dealer and take out guards along the way.
The Weapons Dealer will stop near an alleyway, flanked by two guards on the street level and one more positioned on a terrace above. I recommend that you use Eagle Eye to spot them more easily.
Start by getting rid of the terrace guard because they could see you eliminating the two street-level guards.
After that, wait for the two street-level guards to get close to the explosives as shown in the image below. Use a Throwing Knife to set off the explosives and take them out together.
Follow the Weapons Dealer until you reach Basra Gate, where you’ll find a total of four guards.
You can try many different approaches to take them out as they’re pretty much scattered around.
However, I recommend taking out the two guards nearby first. The other two guards will be located inside one of the shops and near the end of the gate.
Follow the Weapons Dealer until you arrive at a small plaza with three guards. Take them out and keep following the NPC onto the small docks area.
And there you have it! You’ve successfully escorted the Weapons Dealer to leave the city safely. He’ll reward you with the Rostom Sword.
2nd Location – The Slave Merchant Contract
Now, for this contract, you’ll have to assassinate the Slave Merchant located in the Upper Harbor, northwest of Harbiyah.
After arriving at the location, use your Eagle Eye and look for the building right next to the big ship. You’ll have to spot the only NPC in the area glowing in the color of gold/yellow. That’ll be your target.
If you want to get the job done quick, and there’s a lot of hostiles distracting you, you can use a smoke bomb around the target and assassinate him.
After you successfully take out the Slave Merchant, you’ll get the Rostam Sword as a reward.
You may also want to head out to the ship for a Gear Chest containing the Zanj Uprising Outfit. For that you can check out this guide on the Upper Harbor Gear Chest Ship Puzzle!
3rd Location – The Slave Trapper Contract
Lastly, we have the Slave Trapper contract. For this one, you’ll have to assassinate the NPC as well similar to the 2nd location.
The Slave Trapper will be located near the Sharqiyah Bureau in Karkh as shown in the image below.
Before we proceed, you’ll have to this contract in the day. So, sit in a bench or chair somewhere to pass the time if needed.
NOTE: You’ll have to finish other contracts first before “The Slave Trapper” contract appears in the board.
To begin, you’ll have to follow another NPC first, which will eventually lead to the location of the Slave Trapper.
Also, you’ll have to be careful and don’t alert the NPC as he’ll be watching his surroundings every now and then.
I recommend taking the higher level through the platforms and watch towers. Though, you’ll have to take out some guards along the way.
After arriving at this location, you’ll have to sit in a bench nearby and eavesdrop on the NPC’s conversation with another NPC.
You’ll then know that the Slave Trapper will be inside The Great Garrison. After the dialogue, you might alert some guards.
First, you must find cover since you’ll need to use Enkidu to spot the exact location of the target. For the Slave Trapper’s location, you must can around this area as shown in the image below.
Now, you’ll have to make your way inside The Great Garrison, which is a heavily-guarded restricted area.
There’s lot of approaches you can do here as there’s lot of high levels you can go through. For the Slave Trapper’s location, keep following the marker on your screen.
Again, if you want to get the job done quick, and there’s a lot of hostiles distracting you, you can use a smoke bomb around the target and assassinate him.
After you’ve successfully taken out the Slave Trapper, you’ll get the Rostam Sword as your reward.
