Baldur’s Gate 3 has a wide variety of quests on offer that are any RPG player’s dream. Most of these quests allow you to creatively undertake them courtesy of the DnD style mechanics. However, some of these quests can be a little difficult to do, and this includes the Blind the Absolute quest.
In this guide, we will show you how you can destroy the Scrying Eye in the easiest way possible. This way, you can move forward with the quest and it will also open up your eyes (no pun intended) to new creative possibilities. Let’s see how it works.

How to Destroy the Scrying Eye
This quest will not require you to engage in any combat and there will be no need to fulfill certain prerequisites. The way it works is quite simple, and it just uses a bit of trickery and thinking out of the box. Here are the steps to follow to Blind the Absolute:
- Start by talking to the dwarf, Elder Brithvar, as he will give you the objective Destroy the Scrying Eye.
- Go towards the Scrying Eye from behind and use the Hide button. This will catch its attention and it will start following you.
- Lure it to the edge of the main area of the forge that looks over a giant pit of lava. Make sure it is still following you before you stray too far.
- Stand on the edge and shuffle around a bit to position the Eye off the edge. You want to make sure you can get it as close to the edge as possible.
- Stand at an angle behind the Scrying Eye that is away from the edge while making sure that you are facing towards the edge.
- Use the Shove action and target the Eye. This will prompt your character to push it over the edge and into the lava, killing it.

Detailed Walkthrough
Start by talking to the Elder Brithvar dwarf in the Grymforge Underdark area of the game. He will tell you that there is an eye-like orb that is floating around the area. This is the Scrying Eye, and he will make it clear (quite rudely) that you need to destroy it stealthily without getting caught.
This part can be very difficult to manage as the Eye will be moving around a lot and will notice when you are trying to sneak up on it.
Generally, you will need to go through quite a lot of moving around to get an angle on it from afar so you can snipe it easily. However, we have a much better way where you won’t even have to resort to any violence.
Start by approaching the Eye from the back. When you are in this position, use Hide. This will alert the Eye immediately and it will turn around to look at you. After this, it will start following to ensure that you are not up to anything suspicious.
You can use this to your advantage and lure it to a particular place which will allow you to kill it instantly.
Start by making your way to the main area of the forge that is surrounded by embers with lava leaping from the bottom. You will see an area in the corner which has a small plank that you can walk across.
As you move, make sure that the Eye is still following you. When you walk across the planks that form a makeshift bridge, you will find yourself on a small platform on the edge of the lava. Go to the edge as much as you can without making sure that you fall in.
When the eye reaches the platform, you want to make sure that the guide line is pointing over the edge. You will need to shuffle around a bit to make sure the Eye can move ahead as much as possible towards the edge where it can fall in the lava.
When you have it as close to the edge as possible, walk towards the Eye and position yourself on the side away from the edge. Essentially, what you’re going to be doing is pushing the Eye into the lava so you will need to make sure that the angle of the push is accurate.
Select the Shove option and target the Eye. Don’t worry, if it’s looking at you as this will not be an issue. Target the Eye and press the shove button. You will watch as your character hilariously just shoves the Eye into the lava and the objective Blind the Absolute will have been completed.
