Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the most anticipated games released this year, winning over the hearts of countless gamers. The next-generation RPG from Larian Studios has taken the world by storm, with countless people impressed by the sheer scale and dedication put into the game.
The countless quests present in the game ensure that players always have something to do. This guide will focus on how to break Yurgir’s Contract so that he is free from Raphael.
How To Break Yurgir’s Contract
Meeting Yurgir
You will need first to meet Yurgir in the Gauntlet of Shar. His location is highlighted in the map image below. As you head closer to the location, a cutscene will automatically start in which your party will be ambushed by Yurgir.
In the first dialogue choice, select the first option indicating that you are here to talk to Yurgir. This will be followed by Yurgir smelling Raphael on you and demanding this location.
In the second dialogue choice, choose the first option once again. Which will allow you to inquire how he knows Raphael.
Yurgir will inform you that he was tricked by Raphael. In the next dialogue choice, select the second option, which will allow you to convince that you can help him.
After that, he will then inform you of the contract that he is held by. In the next dialogue choice, select the first option so that you can view the contract to help Yurgir.
Yurgir will sing a song that is his contract. In the next dialogue choice, select the first option that will allow your party to inquire more about this song.
In this interaction, Yurgir will once again prepare to attack you, and this will be followed by the final dialogue choice. Choose the second option to persuade him to allow you to search the place for further clues.
Speaking to Corpses
After the interaction with Yurgir finishes, you will need to search for clues to help break his contract. For this, go to the Orthon’s Bed that is behind Yurgir.
Here, you will need to use Shadowheart‘s Speak to Dead spell. Using the spell will trigger a cutscene allowing you to ask five questions from the dead.
The most important dialogue choice is the second one, which will allow you to inquire the corpses as to what happened to them. They will tell you that Yurgir slaughtered them.
In the following question, ask if there was anyone who escaped. The corpses will tell you that one did escape by turning into “many”.
Searching for Clues
After the interaction with the corpses finishes, your journal will be updated with a new location marked on your map. To get there, first travel to the Gauntlet of Shar Portal.
From the portal, head down the stairs to the left. Walk down the massive hallway to the end and take the Spiral Staircase to the bottom.
From there, go to the left and head forward. You should see a Cragged Rock that you can interact with to get to the lower level. After getting down, there should be another Cragged Rock slightly ahead that will allow you to get down even further.
At the bottom, you should see a faint Ritual Circle and a note from Raphael titled One Becomes Many. Read the note and after that interact with the Broken Effigy to spawn a rat. Attack the rat once it spawns to defeat it.
Defeating the rat will result in more spawning. To defeat them with ease, we recommend using Shadowheart’s Guardian Spell, which will instantaneously kill any rats within her radius.
After you defeat all the rats, the final one will turn into Lyrthindor, who is the final Dark Justiciar. In the next dialogue choice, you will need to select the Attack option.
After defeating Lyrthindor, head back to Yurgir’s location.
Completing the Quest
Upon reaching Yurgir, the cutscene will automatically play, in which Yurgir will inform you that he can no longer hear the song. In the upcoming dialogue choice, select the first option to tell him that he is free from the contract.
This will be followed by Raphael spawning, who will inform Yurgir that he breached the contract by using sub-contractors.
Lastly, this will result in Yurgir accepting the new contract and telling you that whatever is left behind, you can have it.
We hope that this guide for breaking Yurgir’s contract was helpful to you. Let us know in the comments below if you have any questions or suggestions for future content.
