Fighter Class Guide – Baldur’s Gate 3

This is one of the most simple and apprachabler classes to enter in Baldur’s Gate 3. It is a very good pick if you are a beginner of the game. The fighter is a master of all weapon types and armor making it a very versatile class.

They have a basic knowledge of all the fighting styles and each fighter can specialize in particular style of your choosing and playchoice.

You will start out the game with a MAX of 10 HP. After that, each level that you gain will roll a 10 sided dice and add the number to the overall number of health that you can have.

The fighter is proficient in all simple martial weapons. The fighter is also able to wear any type and all of the armors in the game as well as shields. It will be also with very interesting class features like a lot of proficiencies that make it a highly interesting role and class to play

Level 1

In the first level you will have the option of choosing between these stats here:

  • Archery
  • Defence
  • Dueling
  • Great Weapon Fighting
  • Protection
  • Two Weapon Fighting

You can go ahead and choose anything that you would like to tailor your gamestyle. For example if you want to go ranged style you’ll go with archery. If you want to go protection it will mean that you’ll go with shields and so on. There isn’t a right or wrong, the fighter can basically do good in any of them.

Level 3

Level 3 on the other hand is the most important level for the fighter class. This is when you get to choose your martial archetype which is the fighters subclass. These are the current choices you can make:

  • Battle Master – it is a fighting style that will give you a superiority dice and a lot of attacks that will either push the enemy and deal with physical damage. Also, you can rally your teammates and buff them up
  • Eldrick Knight – this is a fighter melee class that has the fighting magicka abilities of a wizard. You can do a lot of melee fighting styles but with spells

This is the most important level so the other ones are simply based on your playstyle.

Ability Points

This is how your ability points should be looking like for the Fighter when you start out the game. You will have a much better and overall power when you stick with these. It is the perfect balance that will make your fighter handle well in almost all types of situations.
