Baldur’s Gate 3 is a new action-adventure role-playing game based on the Dungeons and Dragons tabletop game. It involves players choosing their characters from a plethora of different races available and delving into Forgotten Realms Universe to explore it while engaging in battles. With a plethora of class combinations and areas available, players will never be bored when engaging with this vast world. This guide will focus on how to get the Umbral Gem in the Gauntlet of Shard.
Gauntlet of Shar Umbral Gem Puzzle
Upon entering the Gauntlet of Shar, you should notice the purple color palette of the entire room and a statue in the middle of the room. In front of the statue is the Umbral Gem that you need to get to. However, you cannot get close to the gem as there is an invisible force field that knocks away your characters.
The goal of revealing the secret path to get to the gem requires you to activate the levers in the four corners of the room. In each corner of the room, there is a small compartment that has a lever inside it that can be pulled. Moreover, players must be aware of the traps in the area. When activated, these traps cloud the vision of the characters, which results in them taking damage.
Activating the levers results in Mystic Thuribles being lowered. These are essentially suspended lanterns that are set alight with purple fire. The goal here is to extinguish the fire of these lanterns to make the room dark.
Once all of the lanterns in the room have been extinguished, the area around the Umbral Gem will glow purple and reveal a pattern. Walk between the lines of the pattern to avoid being hit by the force field.
We recommend switching to a single character to prevent your other teammates from setting off the force field. Even if the character you are controlling did not activate the force field, he/she will still be thrown back by the impact. Walk between the pattern’s lines and interact with the Umbral Gem on the pedestal to complete the puzzle.
If done correctly, the force field will deactivate upon interacting with the Umbral Gem. Additionally, you will hear a voice that will tell you to follow their voice and prove your worth. After completing the puzzle, interact with the door on the opposite side of the room. This will get you access to the next area.
