When going through the big world of Baldur’s Gate 3, there are a lot of things seasoned DnD players might see. From the famous traveler and chronicler Volothamp Geddarm, to common items you’ll find in every adventure like magical items with plus numbers on them. It’s fun to find these items, especially if you know what they do and one item in particular is pretty interesting to find, the Iron Flask.
In this guide, we’ll show you where to find the Iron Flask and how to use it. The item is a magical item that’s somewhat well known in the DnD universe, and we’ll show you why.
How To Get Iron Flask & Use It
The Iron Flask can be found in northern part of the Blighted Village in Act 1 of the game. You can use the image below as a reference. You might go through a couple of fights on the way, including some Hyenas who ate a little bit too much. If you know DnD lore, then you’ll know what happens to them next if you don’t do anything about it.
The item is inside a chest in a cave and when you pick it up, you can actually examine it. By doing so, you’ll have to roll an Arcana check to learn what this strange item does. It might look like a mundane item, but it’s actually a very powerful magical item.
The Iron Flask is a magical item that can trap a creature inside of it. The catch is the creature needs to be not native to the plane it’s been used on. The thing is the flask has a cork on it, that means the item is filled.
If you actually activate the item and use it, this will make your character open the flask and let the monster inside it out. You can also throw the item to release the monster inside of it.
The monster will be a Spectator, a Beholder looking monster that luckily is only level 5. If it was an actual beholder, then I suggest you just load your game! Those things aren’t jokes, but this one is with the right party and preparation. The Spectator will be hostile to you and anything around it, so it’s great to throw on top of some enemies.
