When you first encounter the mysterious Dank Crypt area, you’ll need to clear out his tomb and wake him up. Then, you’ll gain access to Withers in your campsite, and he will also give your characters access to Respec as well as a resurrection spell.

You can start a conversation with Withers to recruit a Hireling for 100 gold. After that, you will be able to choose from a roster of 12. Each of these characters will have different classes with unique stats and abilities. To dismiss one of them, simply start a conversation with him and choose the option to dismiss a Hireling.
