When going through your first playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s surprising how many things you can easily miss in the game. One of the things you can miss at the first act of the game has something to do with the Druid Kagha. In the Druid’s Grove, she’s hiding a secret that not many people find out this early in the game. Good thing for you, there’s a guide right here on how to do it!

In this guide, we’ll show you how to investigate Kagha and her unsavory dealings with certain druids. We’ll go through how to get evidence and actually confront her about it afterwards.

Investigate Kagha & The Swamp | Expose Kagha Guide

As a warning, investigating Kagha isn’t possible after you save Druid Halsin and return him to the grove. At that point, Kagha will be demoted and it wouldn’t be possible to follow through with this even if you get the items.

Getting the Evidence

The first step is to find evidence of Kagha’s dealings. To do this, you’ll need to go inside the Druid’s Grove where Kagha is and head to the Servant’s Quarters. There, you’ll need to head to the western bookshelf. There’s a chest behind it that you’ll need to go around in order to access it.

That chest is Kagha’s Chest, and you’ll need to lockpick it to open it. The lockpick DC for this chest is 10, so it’s not that hard to unlock. It’ll be easy for Bards or Rogues that have proficiency or expertise in Sleight of Hand.

Once you open the chest, you’ll find note called “Half-Torn Note.” When you read it, you’ll see a short note saying to Kagha, “Swamp-Docks. Tree. Meet Me. Alone.” The swamp-dock the note is talking about is south of the Blighted Village where there are some goblins.

Baldur's Gate 3 Swamp Tree Location

It might not look like a swamp to you as it might look like a normal forest. This is because of a certain creature in the area that I won’t say since it’s not part of the quest and it’s a bit of a spoiler.

Once you get to the area shown above, you’ll fight some enemies. Clear them and look at the base of the tree shown below. There, you’ll find a Wooden Crevice you can open to get the loot inside.

Inside the Crevice is a Letter to Kagha that shows her dealings with Shadow Druids. You’ll need to read the letter to progress the quest. Once you have that, you’ll need to go back to the Druid’s Grove.

Confronting Kagha

Now that you have the evidence, you can then talk to Kagha in the Druid’s Grove. You then choose to tell her that you know the truth and that she’s been mingling with Shadow Druids.

Afterwards, the Shadow Druids will show themselves and a fight will start. You can persuade Kagha to fight with you and don’t be part of the Shadow Druids. Or you can just kill them all, the choice is yours.

Baldur's Gate 3 Expose Kagha

After the battle the quest will be complete as you get to the conclusion of it. We won’t spoil what happens if you kill Kagha or not, so you’ll have to see it yourself!

That’s how you do the investigation of Kagha to expose her in Baldurs Gate 3. Now go out there and try to do the quest yourself! Make sure to go check out our guide on how to recruit Minthara if you haven’t already!
