Feel free to use the Table of Contents if you’re only interested in a specific secret area.

Ancient Guanyin Temple Secret Area – Three Bells Locations

It’s important to keep in mind that the three bells are each guarded by a boss. Some of the bells are directly guarded while the others generally guard the path that you need to follow.

So, be prepared for a boss fight when you’re going to the locations of these bells. We are not yet sure whether you need to ring the bells in order or not. So, just to be safe, we recommend you ring the bells in the order we’ve shown below. You’ll unlock the locations in this order anyway.

Also consider checking out our dedicated three bells locations guide.

Bell Location #1 – Forest Of The Wolves | Outside The Forest

For the first bell location, you’ll want to fast travel to the Outside The Forest shrine that can be found in the Forest Of The Wolves.

If you haven’t unlocked this Shrine yet in Black Myth Wukong, progress through Chapter 1 and you’ll eventually get the shrine.

How to Get to Kingdom of Sahali – Yellow Wind Ridge Secret Area

The Kingdom of Sahali’s entrance may be in Yellow Wind Ridge, but you’ll need to unlock this area. For that, you’ll need to complete a specific quest related to the Drunk Boar.

You’ll also be going to various locations and even fighting some bosses. So, it is possible you may have to progress further into the game to unlock the locations.

With that said, here is a breakdown of all the steps you need to follow to get to the Kingdom of Sahali in Black Myth Wukong:

  • Talk to the Drunk Boar at Fright Cliff
  • Get the Sobering Stone Item and give it to the Drunk Boar
  • Purchase or fine the Jade Lotus item
  • Give the Jade Lotus to the Drunk Boar at the Crouching Tiger Temple
  • Obtain the Arhat Gold Piece in Sandgate Village
  • Go back to Fright Cliff and fight Yellow Robed Squire
  • Go through the newly opened gate to the secret area.

If you’d prefer to get all the items before running through the quest line, you can do that as well. It’ll save you multiple trips from returning to the Drunk Boar.

Consider checking out our yellow wind ridge secret area guide too.

Drunk Boar Location

To start off the quest, you’ll need to find the Drunk Boar and talk to him. He can be found by going to the Rockrest Flat shrine at Fright Cliff.

If you do not have this area unlocked, then you’ll need to explore more or progress through Black Myth Wukong’s story.

From this shrine, just go straight ahead and you’ll be able to find the Drunk Boar sitting next to a rock. He is really hard to miss.

Approach the Drunk Boar and talk to him. He will tell you that he needs the Sobering Stone item.

You’ll find yourself in front of a building. On the left, there is a small barn that has a glowing pot. Break the pot and you’ll find the Sobering Stone inside.

Be careful though, as there is an enemy laying in front of the pot.

Return To Drunk Boar

After you obtain the Sobering Stone, return to the Drunk Boar at Fright Cliff. Interact with him to give him the Sobering Stone.

He will go through a bunch of dialogue that you’ll need to exhaust. In this dialogue, he’ll mention that he’s going to the Temple of Crouching Tiger.

Obtain Jade Lotus

Before you go to The Temple of Crouching Tiger in Black Myth Wukong, there is an item that you need to get. This is because he’ll ask for it if you go talk to him at the temple. This is the Jade Lotus.

There are two ways you can get the Jade Lotus. The first method is to purchase it for 90 Will from the Store at any Keeper Shrine. It’s a cheap item so we recommend you do this.

You can also find Jade Lotus just by exploring the game. For example, you can find some near the Village Entrance at Sandgate Village by going to the nearby river.

It’s also possible you may have some on you already, in which case you can skip this step.

Drunk Boar New Location

After you get the Jade Lotus item, you’ll need to go to the Temple Entrance shrine at Crouching Tiger Temple. The Drunk Boar will have moved to this new location at this point in the quest.

Return To Fright Cliff

After you get the Arhat Gold Piece, you will need to return to the same spot where you first met the Drunk Boar. So, head to the Rockrest Flat shrine at Fright Cliff again.

When you go here, you won’t see the Drunk Boar. Instead, look towards the right and you’ll find the boar’s brother standing there. Approach him and now you’ll have to fight the Yellow Robed Squire.

Defeat him and there will be a cutscene where he retreats behind the gate ahead.

Purple Cloud Mountain Secret Area

  • Attack the Odd Cocoon and defeat Venom Daoist
  • Go to Court of Illumination shrine in the Temple of Flowers
  • Defeat the Venom Daoist boss again
  • Go to the wall to enter the new secret area.

Keep in mind that these places are primarily located in Chapter 4. So, you’ll need to progress to that point.

Reach Pool of Shattered Jade Shrine

Starting off, you will need to reach the Pool of Shattered Jade Shrine in Black Myth Wukong. It’s located in the Webbed Hollow area.

If you haven’t reached this area, we suggest you start from the Upper Hollow shrine.

All Buddha Eyeballs Locations – Secret Shigandang Boss

Before we begin, keep in mind that this guide will assume that you’ve already progressed somewhat in the second chapter of the game. As such, if there are any encounters in your way that aren’t covered here, you’ll just have to take care of them first.

To start, we will be heading to the Valley of Despair shrine. This is the one that you unlock after beating the father & son duo rat bosses. I’m sure you know them by now, and if not, my only bit of advice is that I cheesed it by focusing the son (the bigger rat). That fight ends early if he goes down first.

You’ll also want to check out our dedicated all buddha eyeballs locations guide.

Buddha Eyeballs #1 – Welcome to Fright Cliff

Starting from the Valley of Despair shrine, head through the bridge directly in front of it. This is marked by a large dead tree. Just continue following the path until you reach an archway, which you will then go through as well.

Watch out for the pitstone past the bridge. He’s an easy enemy to kill, so you may as well beat him down for some free EXP along the way. There is also a Spearbone blocking the archway, but he’ll go down quick with a single immobilize.

There will be a couple more enemies past this, so make short work of them and continue down the road until you reach a stone head on the ground. Approach it to claim your first set of Buddha Eyeballs!

While you are here, activate the shrine as well. This is the Squall Hideout shrine. This will come in handy for this search, but also you should be activating these anyway.

Buddha Eyeballs #2 & #3 – Fighting Through

After you get the shrine up and running, push up the road to your right. You will encounter more familiar enemies here, which you will need to clear.

Further ahead, you will notice another stone head, but across from you will be a lot of Blazebones perched up on some wooden platforms further to the right.

This will seem a bit silly at first, but trust me. Ignore the stone head for now and backtrack a bit to push through the enemies until you reach the Blazebones up top.

We’re not only clearing them out to safely claim the head below. You see, there’s also another stone head hidden right behind them! Once you have cleared out all of the nearby enemies, you can now safely claim both sets of eyes.

Buddha Eyeballs #4 – Backtracking A Bit

After you’ve claimed #2 and #3, you will now have to return to the shrine from earlier. If you have the Incense Trail Talisman assigned to a hotkey, now’s the perfect time to hit it.

This time, we’re going to head over to the left path. There will be a bunch of enemies here, including a Palestone that might catch you off guard. Just ignore them and run straight forward until you can turn left.

SIDE NOTE: There are flowers on the ground that you can gather. Do not pick it up, as this is a Ginsengling in disguise. This zone just loves having camouflaged enemies.

Once you reach the corner, simply turn left and you should be able to spot the next stone head from here. Watch out for the Poisestone guarding it, as its attacks hurt. There will also be a pair of Palestones hanging around, so be ready to brawl before approaching the head.

Buddha Eyeballs #5 – Near the Rockrest Flat Shrine

After claiming the previous set of eyes, turn around and then proceed to the other path in the cave. Just keep going forward and stick to the left. There will be another Poisestone in the way, as well as some Blazestones up top.

You can run past them or beat them. Either way, there will be another shrine (Rockrest Flat) that you can activate once you leave the cave through the right, as indicated by a shimmering trail if you haven’t claimed it yet.

Just a little to the left from the shrine, you should be able to see the fifth stone head. Rest up at the shrine if you have to, then walk on over to the head claim the eyes!

Black Myth Wukong directions to the shrine and head #5

Buddha Eyeballs #6 – Back in the Cave

Finally, to get the last set of eyeballs, you will want to go back through the cave that you just exited. This time, head right to continue through the dark cave system.

You will aggro the Poisestone from earlier, along with a few more that’s blocking your path. My advice is to just ignore them and continue running through the linear path.

Once you reach a bunch of glowing blue stones, you will have to turn right and exit the cave. You will find yourself on a fairly narrow ledge, with the final stone head at the end of it.

Black Myth Wukong cave system with directions to the head

If you ignored the Poisestones and rushed here, you will be chased down by one that is significantly stronger and has blue flames all around it. This will drop a spirit that you can add to your collection!

Also, this is how I found out that you are actually immune to damage while claiming the eyes. I highly recommend clearing nearby enemies first, though, as they might get a free hit once your animation is done.

Black Myth Wukong final stone head and poisestone spirit

Using the Buddha Eyeballs

To use these eyes, you will have to return to the Rockrest Flat shrine, which is where you claimed Buddha Eyeballs #5. A little past the stone head, you will see an archway leading into a suspiciously large empty arena.

Near the entrance, there will be a stone that will have a “Deliver” prompt if you approach it. Once you interact with it, you will activate a secret boss known as Shigandang.

A Little Fun Fact

If you haven’t fought the Stone Vanguard boss that can be found in this arena, you can activate Shigandang and they will fight each other. They will completely ignore you, but you should still watch out for the shockwaves that Shigandang can create.

Eventually, at around half health, Shigandang will grab the Stone Vanguard and slam him into the ground. This will instantly kill it and give you whatever drops and achievements come with it. However, you will have to fight what’s left of Shigandang.

If you die here, you can retry the fight, but without the free damage dealt by the Stone Vanguard. I learned that the hard way. As for advice on the fight itself, that is beyond the scope of this guide, so good luck!

Black Myth Wukong shigandang and stone vanguard fighting

That’s everything you need to know for all the secret areas in Black Myth Wukong. We strongly suggest you go to all these secret areas as there are some fun bosses you are potentially missing out on! You can also get some great loot here.
