Excited to play Black Myth Wukong but facing performance issues when you load up the game? Quite a few players have complained about facing stutter, lag, FPS drops and more. Not to worry, we have you covered.

In this guide, we’ll provide you with a comprehensive optimization solution that will help fix these issues. We’ll also go through multiple presets you can utilize depending on your preferences. Without further delay, let’s dive in!

Complete Optimization Guide

We will be taking a look at three presets based on whether you prefer high graphics, high performances or a balanced experience. Keep in mind that these presets were done with a RTX 3060 equipped PC at 1440p.

We’ll also be using DLSS to modify the settings. If you don’t have Nvidia, you can find other options like FSR, XESS and TSR

In general, if you’re having performance issues, you’ll want to toggle or change the following settings in Black Myth Wukong:

  • Super Resolution
  • Full Ray Tracing
  • Shadow Quality
  • Vegetation Quality
  • Global Illumination Quality.

So, consider either turning these settings off or lowering them. These settings have the biggest impact on your FPS and performance.

With that said, we’ll now take a look at the presets. Feel free to use the Table of Contents if you’re only interested in a specific preset.

High Graphics

If you’re someone who cares about the graphics more than performance in Black Myth Wukong, we have a custom high graphics preset for you.

First up, we recommend the following settings for the DLSS:

  • Current DLSS Quality Mode: Quality (67% Resolution)
  • Full Ray Tracing: Off

Additionally, here are the recommended graphic settings:

  • View Distance Quality: Cinematic
  • Anti Aliasing Quality: Very High
  • Post Effects Quality: High
  • Shadow Quality: High
  • Texture Quality: Cinematic
  • Visual Effect Quality: Very High
  • Hair Quality: High
  • Vegetation Quality: High
  • Global Illumination Quality: High
  • Reflection Quality: Very High.

Overall, this preset can bring about a 7.8x increase in your FPS from Ultra Settings. You should also be able to get about 39 FPS which is a lot compared to 5 FPS.

While you may notice better shadow quality on Ultra Settings, the increased FPS gain is much better to provide you with some stunning graphics.

Balanced

If you like the graphics of Black Myth Wukong but would still want some better performance, then the balanced preset is ideal for you.

Here is how the balanced preset starts off in terms of DLSS:

  • Current DLSS Quality Mode: Balanced (58% Resolution)
  • Full Ray Tracing: Off

Here are the recommended graphic settings for the balanced preset:

  • View Distance Quality: Cinematic
  • Anti Aliasing Quality: Very High
  • Post Effects Quality: High
  • Shadow Quality: Medium
  • Texture Quality: Cinematic
  • Visual Effect Quality: Very High
  • Hair Quality: High
  • Vegetation Quality: Medium
  • Global Illumination Quality: Medium
  • Reflection Quality: Very High.

Overall, this brings us up to 50 FPS which is a 10x increase in performance compared to the Ultra settings. In most situations, these presets will also look comparable to high graphics.

You’ll notice a downgrade in the vegetation and shadow quality, but the overall aesthetic will remain the same.

High Performance

If you’re still struggling with performance or just want even more frames, then you’ll need to lower your graphics. As such, we have a low graphic preset that can do just the job.

Starting off, here are the settings you want to change for your DLSS:

  • Current DLSS Quality Mode: Performance (50% Resolution)
  • Full Ray Tracing: Off

After that, here are the recommended graphic settings:

  • View Distance Quality: Cinematic
  • Anti Aliasing Quality: Very High
  • Post Effects Quality: High
  • Shadow Quality: Low
  • Texture Quality: Cinematic
  • Visual Effect Quality: Very High
  • Hair Quality: High
  • Vegetation Quality: Medium
  • Global Illumination Quality: Low
  • Reflection Quality: Very High.

Overall, this is going to be giving you a whopping 14.2x increase in performance when compared to Ultra settings. You’ll have 71 FPS on the RTX 360 which is impressive considering that the graphics card is not new.

However, you will notice a significant visual downgrade compared to High Graphics. The forest vegetation will not look as convincing and you’ll notice less shadow detail.

This is a fast paced fighting game though, so the better combat experience may certainly make it worth it!
