There are some really iconic places to explore in Black Myth Wukong. The game also rewards you for exploring with some fantastic loot and even secret areas at times. If you’re in the Pagoda Realm area, you might have noticed some purple prison cells that you can’t get past.

How to Open the Purple Prison Cells
To open the purple circle doors in Black Myth Wukong, you’ll need to go through the following steps:
- Progress to the Upper Pagoda Shrine
- Drop down and defeat the Captain Lotus Vision boss
- Return to the prison cells to open them.
Reach Upper Pagoda Shrine
When you’re in the Pagoda Realm area of Black Myth Wukong, you’ll start to notice prison cells that have purple circles on them. No matter how much you hit them, you will not be able to open them.
We suggest you don’t ignore these, as there is some good loot and even NPCs you can talk to. Typically, you’ll start seeing these doors near the Lower Pagoda shrine.
So, starting off, your goal is to reach the Upper Pagoda shrine. To do this simply leave the door behind for now and progress ahead.
In essence, you need to get to the top of the prison. There will be a lot of enemies in your way but get past them and keep going up.
Eventually, you will come upon the Upper Pagoda shrine. Go to it so that you can light the checkpoint.
Defeat Captain Lotus Vision
After you interact with the Upper Pagoda shrine, your eyes will suddenly go red and the screen will change. This is your cue to get ready for another boss fight in Black Myth Wukong.
Look away from the shrine and you’ll see a gap below you. Drop down so that you can start the boss fight against Captain Lotus Vision.
Be wary of this boss as he’s very annoying. It’s a tricky fight where the boss will fire a ton of projectiles. Eventually, you should be able to beat him.
Open Purple Circle Door
After you’ve defeated the boss, return to the purple circle doors. You can teleport back to the Lower Pagoda shrine as there are a lot of these doors there.
When you approach the prison cells now, you’ll see that the purple circle is now gone. You will also be able to open all of them.
We do recommend that you get rid of another boss that can be found by further progressing through Pagoda Realm. This will help you get rid of the madness debuff zones that pop up in this area.
Removing this zone will also help you with the Captain Lotus Vision. However, this is completely optional if your goal is to just open the doors.
