Fishing has finally arrived in Blox Fruits – Update 27, and with it comes two key NPCs you’ll need to track down: the Fisherman and the Angler. These NPCs are spread across the First, Second, and Third Seas, and each one plays an important role in your fishing journey. In this guide, I’ll show you every Angler and Fisherman NPC location in all three seas, explain what they do, and share some personal notes from grinding fishing for hours (seriously, my fishing level is already insane). Let’s dive in!

All Angler & Fisherman NPC Location

The Fisherman is your starting point, handing you the Basic Fishing Rod and some free bait to get you going. The Angler, on the other hand, is where the grind really begins, he’s the one who upgrades your rods, sells better bait, and gives out quests to level up your fishing skills.

First Sea

Fisherman NPC – Frozen Village

  • Location: Frozen Village, right beside the Jungle.
  • Tip: If you’ve got the Portal fruit, just teleport straight to Snow and head inside the village.
  • What he does:
    • Unlocks fishing for your account.
    • Gives you the Basic Fishing Rod and free bait.
    • Lets you buy more bait whenever you need it (1,000 Money for 10x Basic Bait).
    • You can also sell your fish here for extra cash.

Angler NPC – Sky Island

  • Location: At the bottom of Sky Island (go all the way down).
  • What he does:
    • The only NPC (for now) that can upgrade your Basic Rod into a Gold Rod (requires Fishing Level 20 and 10 Trust).
    • Sells Basic Kelp and Good Bait.
    • Offers quests you can complete every 15 minutes (randomized)—keep grinding these to gain trust and level up your fishing faster.
  • Note: This is where I’ve spent most of my time grinding. After 15+ hours, I managed to unlock the Gold Rod, but no other rods yet.

Second Sea

Fisherman NPC – Docks 2

  • Location: Right at the spawn point, near Docks 2 of the Kingdom of Rose.
  • What he does: Gives you the same functions as in the First Sea (basic rod, bait, selling fish).
Here’s a video showing the Fisherman NPC location at Docks 2 in the Second Sea of Blox Fruits.

Angler NPC – Docks 3 (Green Zone)

  • Location: Docks 3 in the Green Zone.
  • What he does:
    • Same as the First Sea Angler—quests, bait, and rod upgrades.
    • Upgrades rods (Shark Rod unlocks here with 15 Trust).
Second Sea Angler NPC – Docks 3 (Green Zone) Location Blox Fruits.

Third Sea

Fisherman NPC – Port Town

  • Location: At the Port, on the far-right side.
  • What he does: Same as the other Fishermen—basic rod, bait shop, and fish selling.
Check out this video on where to find the Fisherman NPC at Port Town in the Third Sea of Blox Fruits.

Angler NPC – Hydra Town

  • Location: Hydra Island, across the river in front of the Hydra Leader spawn.
  • What he does:
    • Same bait shop and quest system as First Sea.
    • Unlocks the Shell Rod once you gain 50 Trust.
Here’s a guide on finding the Angler NPC at Hydra Town in the Third Sea of Blox Fruits.

Angler NPC Functions

Fishing Rods

There are currently five fishing rods in the game:

  1. Basic Rod – From the Fisherman NPC.
  2. Gold Rod – Craftable from First Sea Angler (10 Trust).
  3. Shark Rod – Craftable from Second Sea Angler (15 Trust).
  4. Shell Rod – Craftable from Third Sea Angler (50 Trust).
  5. Treasure Rod – Rare, not from Anglers or Fishermen; obtainable only from sunken chests.

Bait

  • The Angler lets you craft different bait (seven types exist).
  • Higher-tier bait increases your chance to catch rarer fish.

Quests

  • The Angler has four possible quests (randomized):
    1. Catch a fish of a specific rarity (Common–Mythical).
    2. Catch any fish within 2 minutes 5 seconds.
    3. Perform 3 perfect catches + 3 perfect reactions.
    4. Use a fishing rod skill 3 times.
  • Cooldown: 15 minutes (whether you succeed or fail).
  • Each completed quest grants Trust with the Angler.

Notes & Tips

You need Fishing Level 20 to interact with the Angler.

Trust is progressive per sea:

  • Gold Rod = 10 Trust (First Sea).
  • Shark Rod = 15 Trust (Second Sea).
  • Shell Rod = 50 Trust (Third Sea).

Quest rewards do NOT carry over between seas—you’ll need to re-grind Angler trust in each sea.

To check how many quests you’ve done:

  • Formula: (Reward – 1000) / 100.
  • Example: If your reward is $1,700, you’ve done 7 quests.

Recommended strategy:

  • Skip Angler quests asking for Epic/Mythical fish—they waste time.
  • If you’re already in the Third Sea, go straight to the Angler there for faster access to better rods/bait.

Current bug: If you catch a fish within the time requirement but let the timer expire before turning it in, the Angler can bug and freeze your dialogue.

Blox Fruits Update 27 How To Get New Fishing Gold Rod, New Bait Location.

Wrap-Up

And that’s it—all Fisherman and Angler NPC locations across the First, Second, and Third Seas in Blox Fruits Update 27. If you’re just starting out, make sure to talk to the Fisherman at Frozen Village first to get your rod and bait, then move on to the Anglers for upgrades and quests.

I’ll keep grinding and testing to see if new rods or bait unlock in future updates (or through hidden requirements). For now, though, the Gold Rod is your best bet.

Happy fishing, and may your catches be legendary! 🐟⚡Curious about everything new? Dive into my full guide on the Blox Fruits Lightning Update—it covers all the fresh features, changes, and handy tips you’ll need!
