Coral Island is a laid-back farm simulator inspired by games such as Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon. Just like those games, it also features a somewhat intuitive relationship system that can eventually lead to marriage.
Having said all of that, one of the romanceable NPCs is Mark, who, in spite of his attitude towards others, has a soft spot for animals. Here’s how the romance with him flows!
How to Marry Mark Guide | Romance Guide, All Heart Events
Just like the other romanceable NPCs in the game, you will have to constantly talk to Mark every single day and occasionally give him gifts that he likes to raise his heart level.
He dislikes hot peppers and goat cheese. As for the gifts that he does like, they are the following:
- Shiitake
- Tomato soup
- Hot cocoa
- Egg custard
- Morel
There is a wide range of other gifts that every single NPC generally likes or hates to receive, though these are the ones that are specific to Mark.
Heart Events
When you first meet Mark, he will be pretty cold and straight up mean towards you. He warms up later on as you increase his heart level.
At certain heart levels, you will trigger specific events at some locations that will help you learn more about each character. We’ll quickly go through Mark’s heart events that will trigger as you further your relationship with him:
- 3 Hearts – Find Mark outside the cavern at night, where you will find him rescuing a stray dog.
- 4 Hearts – You can find him at the animal shelter between 9am to 3pm. There will be another scene involving the stray from earlier.
- 6 Hearts – He will be drinking at Fishensips at around 12nn to 5pm. He’ll share a secret with you.
- Also 6 Hearts – Just outside the huntress cabin, you will find out some more information about the stray.
- 7 Hearts – Outside the cavern once more, at night, you will find Mark searching for the stray.
- 8 Hearts – You will find him at the lake around 8am to 4pm, where he will be reunited with the missing dog.
Once you reach 10 hearts, you will eventually receive an invite from Mark asking you to meet him at the beach.
Near the end of that event, there will be a moment where Mark confesses his feelings for you. At this point, you have to select “I like you too” to further your romance with him.
As with other NPCs, after triggering all of Mark’s heart events, you will now have the option to propose to him. From there, he’ll tell you when you’ll be getting married, and all you have to do at this point is wait until then.
And that’s pretty much all you need to know when it comes to marrying Mark in Coral Island. There are many other candidates in the game, so you’ll have to go through the game several times if you want to see how their full relationships play out!
