Version 1.0 is the full launch of the game Core Keeper which adds new biomes, classes (mage and warlock), new bosses, and much more to explore.

If you’re planning on coming at the bosses with full force, you’ll need the best the game has to offer. Here’s how to get the legendary bow called the Phantom Spark.

How To Get Phantom Spark | All Fortress Locations

The Phantom Spark is a legendary bow and one of the best weapons in the game! Acquiring the Phantom Spark used to be much more difficult but with the new 1.0 update, the legendary bow is now more obtainable.

Here’s what you need to do to get the Phantom Spark:

  • Buy an empty crystal for 3000 ancient coins
  • Look for the items for the empty crystals and ingredients for the Phantom Saprk in the fortresses
  • Acquire the Glyph parchment to make Phantom Spark

Keep reading for a full walkthrough of how to achieve each of these steps!

Buying an Empty Crystal

First things first, you’ll need to go over and talk to the Cloaked Merchant, who is the second merchant you unlock in the game.

You summon him by placing a mysterious item on the stand and have him teleport into the room. This merchant will sell one of the items we need for the Phantom Spark, which is the Empty Crystal. The crystal costs 3000 ancient coins so prepare by having the money on you. Next, keep the item in your inventory and we’ll move on to the second step!

After you obtain the empty crystal, you’ll need to go to the 1.0 world and find the Sunken Sea. If you check the map, the sunken sea is going to be on the left side of the map. The blue highlighted area is the sunken sea.

Exploring Fortresses

Here are some things to keep in mind when looking for the fortresses along with the items for the Phantom Spark bow.

  • Since the sunken sea is not as wide as it used to be, finding the fortresses that have the items we need should be easier.
  • To help give you an idea of where to find the items, look at the coordinates at the top right of the map. The number in the brackets moves with your cursor and we’ll show you how many blocks the facility is away from the core.
  • The core in each fortress will have one of the items we need and the chest in the same room will have the other.
  • We’ll need to find a total of three large fortresses and six items.
  • Next thing to note, there are two structure types you should be looking for:
    • One with statues similar to Yoda

  • The second type will be with the shadow of a boat underneath the platform of the entrance.

The items we need will only spawn in the fortresses that look like the ones shown above.

  • The next thing to keep in mind while searching for the fortresses is to know that the entrance will always be on the south side of the map

The First Fortress

The first fortress will be around 500-550 blocks away from the core.

For the first fortress, this is what the inside of the structure looks like on the map to have an idea of how to find the room with the items we need.

If you notice, the entrance is in line with the room you’ll need to get to.

Next, you’ll find the required items in the middle of the fortress. Make sure to bring some bridges with you! When you find the room with the items, you might want to clear out the enemies before you start looting the place.

First head over to the large fossil, which is the core, in the middle of the room and it’ll give you Shutdown Protocol. This item is needed for the empty crystal. You can hover over your empty crystal to see all the items needed for it, as well.

You’re not done here, however. Search the room for chests and open them. You should find a Channeling Gemstone which is needed to craft the bow.

Note: If you can’t find the Channeling Gemstone, check around to see if you haven’t already destroyed the chest while fighting enemies. This way, the item should be lying somewhere on the ground.

The Second Fortress

The second fortress with the ship silhouette, is on the northern side of the map. This fortress is about 650 blocks from the core.

Make your way inside the fortress and head to the room in the middle to collect the items. Once you reach the room, you can find the core and along with it, the Anomaly Report. Then, go to the chest that’s usually at the top right of the room and you’ll also find Fractured limbs, needed for the bow.

This way you’ll have 4 out of 6 items that we need from the fortresses.

Third Fortress

For this next one, once again you’ll need to head to the middle room with the core (around 800 blocks away from the entrance). The entrance of this fortress will either have Yoda statues or the sunken ship.

This last fortress is a bit more complicated than the rest, but with the map below, you can get an idea of how far the room we need to head to is from the entrance.

So follow the same routine as the other two fortresses. Get the final piece which is the Overwrite Transcript and then head over to the chest. In the last chest, you should find the Energy String.

The Phantom Spark

Now that we’ve collected all of the difficult items to find, it’s time to head to the structure that will create your own legendary bow, the Phantom Spark. The facility will look like a small skull-shaped building.

Facility with Glyph Parchment in Core keeper 1.0

This place is exactly 500 blocks away from the core. This structure is much smaller than the fortresses.

When you’re at the entrance, it’ll ask you for a key. Luckily, we’ve already prepared ourselves for that situation.

Go over to the empty crystal in your inventory and combine all of the items you’ve collected from the three cores (first make sure they are all in your inventory, too). This will create a key after a channeling animation and then allow you to enter the facility.

The place is rich in all kinds of loot so make sure you take advantage of that! Finally, the chest located at the very back of the facility will give you a Glyph Parchment, which is what we need to craft the Phantom Spark.

Next, the parchment will tell you that you need the three items from the chests we looted at the fortresses which are:

  • The Channeling Gemstone
  • Fractured Limbs
  • Energy String

Along with two other items:

  • 100 Octarine Bar
  • 20 ancient Gemstone
Glyph Parchment in Core keeper 1.0

So, you’ll need to farm a little to get the last two items, but once you do, you can finally craft the legendary Phantom Spark!

Here are its stats:

  • 198 – 242 Physical Damage
  • 1.4 attacks per second
  • +10% critical hit chance
  • +27% critical hit damage
  • +20% chance to summon a ghost Caveling while killing any enemy

The bow’s secondary move is a strong multishot that shoots several arrows at once. The bow is objectively a strong weapon and if using bows in combat is your style, you definitely need the phantom Spark!
