With the massive list of changes in the new Counter-Strike 2, a lot of old-guard players are wondering what stayed the same. Questions about how certain things you can do in the old CS: GO can still be seen in the new game? One thing a lot of players like removing in their games are decals and it used to be a simple console command. Does it still work in the new version of the game?
In this guide, we’ll show you how you can clear decals in the game and see if you can still even do it. Now, let’s see how we can make things a bit clearer in the game.
How to Clear Decals
To those who don’t know, when I mean decals, I’m talking about the bullet holes and blood splatters in the game. When you shoot at a wall or shoot at someone next to a wall, you’ll leave a mark. These marks can be easy to spot close by but can be a bit tricky and blend in with things far away.
To make things easier, players usually clear decals or turn them off via console commands in CS: GO. This can be great if there are just too many bullet holes and blood somewhere.
Sadly in Counter-Strike 2, you can’t do this anymore. That’s because the command, which is “r_csgo_render_decal false”, doesn’t work on official servers anymore.
It does work on private servers though as long as you set sv_cheats to 1, but if you’re used to using it in official servers then sadly you can’t. Hopefully, they’ll change this in the future with a patch since a lot of people use this trick to make things clearer in the game.
For those who like to play the game with the gun on the left hand go check out whether you can play the game with the left hand if you haven’t already!
That’s how you can clear decals in Counter-Strike 2, in private games anyway, and not in official servers. Let’s see if the developers will add that back in as an option for the players in the future!
